which is part of the reason why i am missing, at the end of the day if fans potentially have to pay for saints, catalans, saints/wire, grand final less than a month after the cup final alot of people just cannot find the money to go to all of these games.

| How the RFL think people can afford to pay for 2/3 games @ £20 on the bounce that are live on sky then a potential GF!
Coming the month after they have wanted them to pay for 2/3 cup games at similar prices plus any away league games added that season tickets will be announced very soon!
RFL want to spread the game so not sure how pricing out the heart fans helps!

| If you beat Catalans on Sunday then you will face us at the Stobart the following Saturday. You are having to pay full price for your game at home and then if you come to the stobart you will have to pay full price again. i.e. behind the sticks £20 and North Stand it is £25. there are Sen/junior concessions North stand concessions are £19 not sure of the East or West stand concessions though. I dread to think what price we will have to pay next year in our new ground. Why can't the RFL let us all have cheaper tickets like they do for the early CC games. It is much better to see big crowds than big empty spaces.

well said! i'm in two minds whether to go, one for the monetary reason and two because i have no money!
its a shame, i'm no season ticket holder and i'll admit to missing a few games this year, but even for fans like myself who just go when they can make it or can afford to, the game should be glamourising the playoffs if thats how they want the champions to be decided, not continually asking the people who keep them in their jobs to pay out extra on these so called "extra" games.
i do agree that season ticket holders or fans who can validate their attendance at 10+ home games etc should be entitled to at least one freebie or discount of some sort. maybe thats something the marketing gurus at wigan will decide upon next year when they realise we'll more than likely be ending the season in front of our lowest crowd. and that ISN'T due to the team we are facing. i reckon we wouldn't get much more than we did against saints last week if this was our last chance and we were playing them or wire. shame really but totally understandable from a fans' point of view.
RFL = Grrrrr!!!

Definetly. Reckoning up on our current path to Old Trafford - if we did make it you'd be looking at £200 ish on tickets/travel from Wembley to Old Trafford including home/away games in between that require paid on tickets. That's a massive ask in a 6 week spell for anyone, let alone families!
That's probably a generous estimate at £200 as well when you add on drinking, eating, travelling etc etc.
Then when Old Trafford is done the club will be flapping our letter boxes for another £200ish for next years season tickets and the RFL will want us to attend the same old boring tri/four nations matches as well.
It really is too much!

Which is why the Challenge cup has to be moved and the rounds spread more evenly over the season!!!

| The saddest part of a poor crowd on Sunday could be us getting beat. If we do that there will be about 3000 fans left on to give Maguire a limp send off when he should be getting carried shoulder high around the field to the roars of stands packed full of greatful Wiganers.
As it is we'll win and he'll get chance to have his send off after we've hammered Wire at Old Trafford............Easy.

Ah that positive thinking, it works wonders.
That's why all us Saints fans are positively thinking, Une victoire pour les Français dimanche viennent.
Allez Allez!

| With just over 24 hours to go, 6116 tickets have either been sold or are not available for purchase.
I think the Wigan public are sending a very clear message to the club and the RFL about their pricing structure for play-off games. Whether or not they continue to stick their heads in the sand and ignore it remains to be seen.
In my opinion, the whole play-off system needs to be reviewed, and make it where every game matters. 7th and 8th should not be in the playoffs - the RFL are rewarding mediocrity as those places barely get a 50% win ratio.
For me it should be:
3v6. Winner to next week. Loser out.
4v5. Winner to next week. Loser out.
Highest placed out of those games at home to the lowest placed. Winner to next week, loser out.
1v2. Winner to GF. Loser to next week.
Loser of 1v2 v Winner of other game. Winner to final, loser out.
Final.
This seemed to work a few years ago and IIRC crowds were better for the "Every game matters" fixtures - the playoff crowd figures from 1998-2004 on our website indicate they were always around the same level as the league fixtures.

| I know this will get some negative responses, but i'll say it anyway.
This is a no win situation for the clubs/RFL.
if they charge money for tickets, people complain.
if they don't, where does the prize money come from.
if we include play-off games in season ticket prices then these prices will have to go up resulting in people complaining if their club doesn't have a home play-off game.
If the clubs/RFL sell tickets at discounted rates, people will see the play-offs as a minor competition, after all, tickets for those games cost less than a regular league game.
I've seen people saying they can't afford play-off tickets because season tickets will be on sale soon... what does that have to do with anything? fans will have until november/december to buy their existing seats and until the end of december to buy season tickets at discounted prices. it's not as though people need to buy them the moment they go on sale.
To be honest, even if we get a solution everyone is happy with regarding play-off tickets, people will complain that their season ticket doesn't get them free cup tickets, or free tickets for internationals, or free tickets for away games. people will always moan, and at the moment, i don't see why

I doubt it!! The game was seen and will again be seen as a no mark minority sport due to the shocking attendances in the playoffs. If last weeks game had been priced at £10/£5 there would have been 20K on.
The thing is the RFL dont get it....2 years ago we couldnt sell out the DW for an Eng/Oz game and guess what it was the £40 seats not took up. We couldnt sell out the DW for the WCC in Feb due to the idiotic pricing structure.
