I was stood next to Fielden in a bar in Leeds and he never looked that big on the pitch or on tv as he is in proportion. But up close he was huge. His nose with as big as my fist. He was like some Greek god.

No lose signing for us this one. Weve got a guy who in the past has shown himself to be quality and now he has got a point to prove. He will play a key part in the games against Warrington imo.

It'll be interesting to see the intensity of our pack when everyone is fit. I'm guessing we'll see an amazing level and they'll not take a moments rest because the depth we have now will mean unless your at your maximum you won't get in.

If for no other reason then that this could be a good signing. I thought Hock showed alot of good signs at the weekend as well. He looked a lot sharper and will just keep improving.

well were short of fit props . Cross is of good pedigree,although he did not perform at leeds. Its a win win situation as far as i am concerned.

How many players have been subject to two official announcements from two different clubs in the space of an hour before?

I'm feeling the positivity on here about this guy and it's making me optimistic about this signing for us also.

yep, experienced forward and an extra body going into the playoffs, if he's cr@p hes only here until the end of the season anyway, not like he's on a 5 year deal.

So you would rather not sign a proven prop, when we are struggling in that position.
Fielden, O'Carroll and Prescott injured. Coley struggling for fitness. That leaves us with Mossop and Lima as our only fit props and Lima was struggling with injury v Cas.

The signing makes a LOT of sense to me.

An average prop is better than no prop, but I have a feeling that Cross could surprise a few on here.

What he meant was read rogues comments in regard to him not being in Mcdermotts plans, this will obviously have effected his performances at Leeds.

Hardly a cast off, of the 2 players 'released' by Leeds, one has gone to the NRL, and the other signs for Wigan, not exactly bad moves.

FFS give the bloke a chance, hes played at the highest level since 2003 incl SOO only 3 years ago.......I dont think i'd be best pleased about playing for a bloke who doesnt rate me......Me think owd Rogues may be correct on this one

Having met Ben Cross today, he also is one big unit !!!!

I remember the last so called over the hill prop we signed on a short term deal...And If Cross plays half as well as Mr Pongia then i for one will be very happy.

Why did you meet him?

He will ad some weight and aggression up front, which i think were in desperate need of. Look at the way Leeds rolled up against us and Catalan and Warrington bossing game up the middle.

Wise move by McGuire and Lenagan if you ask me.
