| The best person who is comparable to Mossop is Peacock in his youth.
Harrison is Warringtons flagship for their junior development setup, he's the best they've got, bless.

| I think Mossop plays well above his weight. If only he had the build of Andy Platt. He has the potential to be an all time great. Time will tell.
Hansen also did an enormous amount of work last night and some of the tackles must have really hurt the Cas players.

Take the rose tinted glasses off for a sec, there are plenty players for Wire who I think are great players, Ben Harrison isn't one of them. I would rather have Tuson in my team than Harrison.

| Every thread we have about a Wigan forward always some how end up as 'said forward v harrison'. All I can tell is Harrison is a better prop than mossop, second rower than Joel, faz abd hansen and 13 than lockers. Personally I think Harrison is good, but not great. Mossop is the best young prop for a god few years

We don't need forwards with a bit of X-Factor at international level. We have a couple of those in Burgess/Crabtree. We need solid, go forward props who won't take a step back in defence and will punch their weight in attack. Look at Petero, most consistent prop over the last however many years, runs the ball in hard, tackles hard, over and over again.

not really
why should the opinion of some daft wire fan, who hasn't seen him in as many games as the rest of us, matter even in the slightest?
he's joint 1st in this forums wigan's player of the season from the 1/2/3's, and will be 1st after the calculations are done for the castleford game... that's in a team that is the best team in the league. nothing more needs to be said
that a good enough argument for you? now as i said, go play with traffic

| Some ludicrous comments on this thread. Mossop is an immense talent - he's already a top class British player, whether he can make the step up and become truly world class remains to be seen, but he has so much potential and is years away from his physical peak.

| Mossop's been consistently good during the season in his first year in the position. Imagine what he'll be like when he changes his body shape to that of a prop and has a number of year's experience in the position.

| Some of the posts by some fans about Harrison have been harsh.
He averages more tackles than Mossop, has made more offloads and has made more tackle breaks. Harrisons work rate is exceptional, he always wins the tackle in defence and is good at slowing the play the ball down. I think Mossop is a slightly better player than Harrison but calling him useless and can't play anywhere is quite simply not true. I'd have Harrison at 13 for England, theres no point in having a ball playing L/F against the Aussies as the only way we can beat them is by having bigger forwards and dominating them. This is what id have.

Did you watch any of this years' State Of Origin series? There's no way we can dominate an Aussie pack. We can match them certainly but even with a 100% fit set of forwards we won't domionate the likes of Matt Scott, Paul Gallen, Beau Scott and Sam Thaiday. We need to be creative if we're going to have any chance of beating them, which won't happen with McBanana in cahrge but that's another issue altogether

| creative...., so forwards that can offload would help, rules Mossop out.... maybe Paul Wood should be given a go, has better stats than Mossop this year and has nearly 10 times as many offloads.

Knowing McNamara, he's more likely to select Rex Mossop and Victoria Wood.

Just because Mossop doesn't offload playing for Wigan doesn't mean he can't offload. Joel Tomkins, Ryan Hoffman, Paul Prescott, Andy Coley etc etc are all very good offloaders but don't offload much when playing for Wigan. It's just Wigan's style of play.
Stats also mean little when comparing players from two different teams. Different amounts of game time, different hookers, different playing styles in teams, completely different team performances or performances from opposing teams means that stats aren't accurate.

Wigan don't attempt offloads generally as a rule. Our forwards are pretty conservative in that respect. Paul Wood is a good shout on form but Mossop is a pick for the future with Wood being 30 by the time the 4 Nations comes about

Paul would should be given a go, but not in place of Mossop. There's room for both in the team.

So your saying we are going to beat the Aussies in the three quarters and half backs?
None of our three quarters would get into Australias fourth team.
Even Sam Tomkins isn't better than any of: Slater, Gidley, Carney, Boyd ect
Graham and Burgess are better than all those forwards apart from Gallen who they are on a similar level to.
The others arn't any better than what we have got. If we have the likes of Burgess, Westwood Harrison putting in big hits we could dominate them on our day. Did you see what happened when Thaiday ran at the NSW number 7 in the second game? He just went low and won the collision with ease.
O Loughlin Btw hasn't proven himself at International level when given the opportunity. But i'd rather have him than Sinfield any day of the week.

| Ben Creagh was very dominant against Wigan in the wcc.... and he isn't one of the aussies outstanding players.... its a myth that our forwards match up against the aussies and its just our backs that let us down..... Sam Burgess and Graham are not better forwards than Matt Scott... how did you even come to that conclusion?

| having compared the stats posted by a wigan fan, per game harrison is better in every regard except missed tackles and errors, and is miles ahead in offloads and breaks.
not the best way to win an argument that, i'm guessing he didn't notice ben has played 25% less games
We haven't seen mossop as much as you have, you haven;t seen harrison as much as we have
however when our two teams have met the last few times i'm sure no one would disagree that harrison has been the better performer. (talking from 2009 here)
personally i hope they both become as good as we are saying and represent england in a win over those pesky aussies
