He was a real mean mofo a few years back but i agree. After a couple of months of being THE target in SL i cant see him lasting.

| i think the juiciest pack next year is Stains.
Graham, Perry, LMS all big boys who can throw their weight around.
Scary to run at if you ask me and that is without Clough, Soliola, puletua
I think they're the scalp next season.
Sorry Wigan. I could easily be proved wrong though, more of a gut feeling. I think it will all click next season

I genuinely don't feel LMS is the all-conquering prop his reputation makes him sound. I don't think he's better than Prescott, although I think he has a lot more potential.
Push Puletua or Clough up to the 4th prop role and there isn't a lot that scares me from their 2nd row. Flannery/Wilkin/Clough is pretty poor (although I rate Clough, just think he's a prop). Looks a bit stronger with Puletua in there but he's never going to do huge minutes.
Strong pack no doubt but I think our strength in the back row is going to result in 1 or 2 moving up to prop to make that position even stronger.

I am really looking forward to seeing (or not, should i say) LMS and Graham in the prop position. It seems scary knowing Lms or Graham or Perry can just dismantle an opposition by just hitting it hard. As you say though, LMS is pure potential and i think he has bags of it. There will be improvement as soon as he puts on the red V.
I can see holes in the SR but i think even those are machines that will destroy teams while they are there. If they have a weakness it is depth in SR.
3 excellent props in JG, LMS, JP <- i'd say best prop in the league in JG
SR-TP, SS, PC, JW <- three big people there maybe 2 should be prop PC and SS
HK- JR <- best british hooker
Wigan's big thing is strength in depth, for that they can't be touched; but in terms in big guns i think it goes to Saints hands down. There will be long periods of next season where Saints have the best pack by a good distance.

| Is was very easy for LMS to stand out in a less than average HQ team over the past few years. It will be a real test for him to step up and take his place in a strong Saints pack. He is light years off being anywhere close to the standard of Graham.
Lets not forget at Wigan, along with already having Fielden, Coley & Lima, we have Mossop who is being bulked up for the front row and the return of Gaz Hock. Anyone who has seen Hock in recent months will be able to agree that he has gone massive.

Wouldn't deny that
You are spot on with all of that.
I think Hock may take a little bit of derusting if he comes back to Wigan.
Is there talk of moving his position?
I haven't seen much of Lima. Just in passing. but i know Coley and Fielden to be erm... part of the scenery at Wigan. I know Coley was more a cheap shot merchant than J. Tomkins. Fielden looked improved last season but he is getting on.
edit: not appropriate on Wigan board

And Prescott, O'Carrol and Davies.
Then in the second row / loose forward positions Tomkins, Hansen, O'Loughlin, Hoffman, Farrell, Tuson and Mossop.
Perry will miss the first five games for Saints.

It'll depend on how they perform and how they train. Injuries will play a major part, and all teams will get them at some stage.

Davies will go out on loan again surely, preferably to a Super League club this time, Crusaders perhaps?

Our's mullered your's twice. Alot of your fans admitted that on here as well. Especially the one at the JJb when your pack were thrown around like rag dolls, remember Prescott and Fielden with quote a few drop's form bone jarring hit's. I remember one quote "We'll get our own back next year". It's okay to admit that your team isn't the best in every single area.
If I was merging the two I'd go.

I dont remember your pack battering us at the HJ.....
Our pack was short as Coley was suspended at the DW and we had to move Prescott up to starting prop and he didnt back up Fielden. Carvell over Fielden or Coley is a joke, Wood is better than Carvell, and Hoffman is better than both the 2 second rowers you named,

His discipline certainly needs work (if he can improve that, he can be a top prop IMO), but I'd say he's got the edge on Prescott for now; given he operates in a beaten pack most weeks:

Really looking forward to seeing him play in the vee - it's been my opinion that we've got a bit soft since Scully retired; Perry and LMS should sort that out.

He obviously gets more of the ball as he was the main man at Quins, but Prescott gets more metres per run. I think they are both of a very similar standard, and he's a good 3rd choice prop but I don't think he's going to be pulling up trees this season and make up for that lack of a specialist 4th prop.
Im prepared to be proved wrong though!

PP makes slightly more metres per carry, but then you'd probably expect that since LMS is carrying the ball a lot more and doing more work in defence. That's ignoring the fact that PP operates in a pack that tends to be on the front foot whilst LMS is often in a team getting mullered.
LMS is far more potent with the ball - way more busts, breaks and offloads. Once he has the likes of Graham and Perry helping him out, I expect he'll make even more of an impact.

| Great starting frontrow at Saints the best in SL in my opinion. It's the backrow where their packs let down. Other than Puletua (who only seems capable of 15 minute stints at present) they've no one who'll break the line.
