On a more serious note, all this ridiculing of our co-tenants is getting quite embarrassing for the name of Wigan.
I run depots in the Midlands as well as the North, and they arent exactly big on RL in that part of the world.
I've got a scarf hanging in the back of my beautiful cherry-red A4 thats says 'We follow Wigan Rugby League' (released during the '95/'96 season, if anyone remembers?).
Properly proud of it, and feeling pretty chuffed with the world after our win at KR.
Pulling up on the car park at Kingsbury (Birmingham), i get greeted with some sing, half-wit Brummie, shouting [i'how can you have that thing hanging in your car after the hammering by Chelsea this weekend!'[/i.

See, I CAN be d explaining the way things are. I teach English to football mad teenagers in Catalonia who come in every Monday afternoon laughing at '[imy[/i' team's spanking over the weekend. It only took a couple of months, but they now know the difference between rugby league and union, what sport our great little town is really famous for and which team really is my team.

Get rid of some of the Football crap and we could develop it into a decent RL stadium. We could use some of the money Latics pay us to rent Edge Hall Road.

There is also the point that entry prices can be reduced somewhat, which should attract larger crowds.

Where would away fans go ?

If they make the south stand standing would take the capacity to around 27k but we would need to reduce prices to get people in.

I'm trying to increase attendances at SL matches. How is that small minded?
