As a fan and season ticket holder it is my perogative to decide which games i attend. It is the clubs responsibility to market their product sufficiently well enough to ensure i attend. I didn't attend yesterday for several reasons which i dont feel i should have to expalin to anyone. With a bit of juggling yes i could have attended but on the balance of things i wasn't willing to make the neccessary sacrifices. If the club and RFL are concerned maybe they need to look into why i and many others just werent that attracted to this game.

If we get to the final, I'm sure they will be there; discounts or not.

for the life of me i cant understand why a season ticket holder would go all season and not go too the playoff games{work commitments aside}
as for marketing the game why should the club need to market the most important fixture of the season to attract a crowd.

Some people will have had plans etc with the game only being confirmed a week in advance, the cost will put others off and the fact its on TV others.

Ill say again, if the RFL price the play off's properly the games will be well attended.

The admission prices are set by the RFL. If it was £10 per adult and £5 per concession I reckon our crowd last night and at the other play off games, would have at least doubled.

The total receipts would have been similar and it would have looked good on the telly.

I didn't go either and I'm definately not ashamed. I go on holiday this week and need all the spare money that I have. Most gay argument ever.

Season ticket holders know which games they get for their money. They also know any extra games have to be paid for at the gate rate, unless there are any concessions.
Non season ticket holders choose which games to go to depending on certain criteria.
It seems ridiculous that because people exercise a choice, they can be castigated as 'bad' fans.
So unless you go to every single game, home and away, academy and reserve games and watch training sessions, and know what the players had for breakfast, you're not worthy of being called a 'supporter'.

Well said mate, i've watched Wigan for 30 years, the start of which were some right dire tripe and some very unglamorous events. Absolutely. We'd have gone on a Saturday, but 7 on a school night is going to keep those with kids away, especially if you have to travel. Getting an 8 year old in at gone 10.00 isn't a good idea. At the end of the day we lost probably 3,000 off the gate by getting beaten by Hudds - that was the real cost of that defeat

Ok, so how would you feel if your Season Ticket cost another £10-£20, then you found that Wigan didnt have a home game?

A playoff game is a BONUS game - one that cannot be guarranteed at the start of a season. The only way you will get bigger crowds on a Sunday night is to slash the prices for all, not just ST holders who have already had a large discount on seat prices throughout the season.

Whilst we won last night, I'm sure with 18000 on instead of 8000 (which included 2000 from Cas), we'd have won by a larger margin. There were barely enough people to haul that LOYAL 18 Flag around!

It is not a large discount at all. You are right it is a bonus game and so I would have thought as a reward for stumping up the cash for an entire season up-front they could reward the ST holders with a free bonus game!

ST holders have committed to watch every home game whether they do or not. If I can plan things right I can fix it to miss one game due to holidays but if things get in the way such as work I'd be financially better off paying on the day. I think a reward for the loyalty and the up front cash is not out of order. If they want to offer cheap tickets to none ST holders as well, no problem.

13 home games individually - 234. A massive saving of 14?
Plus season ticket holders werent able to take advantage of the big one cheap tickets and correct me if im wrong but werent we promissed a free challenge cup ticket that didnt materialise?

I've probably made several mistakes in the above and im sure people will ensure im made aware of them but the point im trying to make is that by buying a season ticket we are doing the club a favour not the other way round.

I love the club even more so this year with the improved number of wigan trained players involved, but no one is going to make me feel guilty for missing a game and being a "poor supporter" when i have certainly done my fair bit to support the club this year and many before.

the challenge cup ticket was for a home game in round 3 but we got barrow away i think. Oh and we get into the SS bar with 10000 st holders and a capacity of not a lot its not a pro and a 10% saving on your first order from warriors world??

We do the club a favour as it know what money it has to spend no what it thinks it can. If I choose not to go to a game that I have not already purchased then so be it, the club hasnt inspired me to do so with the drivel I have had to turn up and watch this year.
