You read it one way others including me read it another way. Only the club knows the meaning of his comments but they can be interpreted either way.

As a neutral, and a British fan, I was disappointed to see Wigan starting with overseas players at 1-7, so it was nice to see Tomkins come on and control the game, over these so-called superstars who have been flown from the other side of the world to play for your club.
Hope he continues to develop and plays for England for a long time in the future.

| I've blasted Noble for leaving him out in the past but when he puts preformences like that in when he gets in maybe you've got to give him some credit. Things have been tough at times this year and maybe keeping him out of the fire has helped. He looked fresh and mentally tough and played without a care in the world.
His alround game is superb. He is a runner and a support player but aside from that he can kick, pass and do the general organising duties.
Between him and Myler we can have an international halfback pairing that can maybe just take it to the Australians and Kiwi's for a change.

| Tomkins was class yesterday and we just couldn't deal with him at the line. I'd say Tomkins is currently a better player than Myler, but prospect-wise they're 2 very young and very talented players.

Alternatively, we'll take both.

| we shouldnt be looking over to aus for a 7 when myler is available, especially with offiah being his agent he will not take much selling for him to come to wigan.
we dont need any second rowers and hocks salary should entirely be used on signing a big name prop like carl webb, then baileys salary (if released) could also be used to bring in a big name prop.

The only thing Offiah is interested in is lining his own pockets and i don't see Lenagan entering any sort of bidding war with Wire for his services.
We may put a sensible offer on the table for him but Wire will blow it out of the water.

Which makes you wonder how Wire are under the salary cap with: Morley, Carvell, Briers, Monaghan, V Anderson, L Anderson, Hicks, King & Rauhihi?

Well they must be and i suppose it's because they have alot of small earners in their squad aswell as these high earners.
There doesn't seem to be much depth to their squad either.

| Im going to apply the same "logic" being applied to Locky.
Sam should move positions.
He will never be as good as Edwards or Gregory.

| Tomkins and McIlorum did very well last night.
When you see talent like that coming through it gives you real hope for the future of Wigan rugby, despite a decade of mismanagement and a decline in standards on and off the field.
Tomkins has more potential than any young Wigan player I've watched since the days of Farrell and Robinson.
People have said we should build a team around him. Its possibly a little early to be saying that; what we can say is that we have a naturally gifted rugby player on our books and his development should be a massive priority for this club.
I'm also becoming increasingly impressed with McIlorum.
What we should be doing IMO is building for the future around young players like these two, and key established players like Lockers (who has been superb this season and was great again last night, he's the best 13 in the Soopah Doopah League by a country mile) and Richards to mentor and lead them.
We need a coach that will pick a core of young players and work with them to develop them.
We also need a backroom set-up that is totally focussed on excellence and a club culture in which nothing less than the best is acceptable.
Maybe Sam will go on to be a truly great player. My fear is that we never find out how good he could be, because the state of the club these days will prevent him from fulfilling his potential (or that he will have to leave the club to do so).

Or maybe Deano, he will be one of the players that kickstarts us to becoming a great club again. Let's not forget that it's great players that make great clubs. Without the likes of Edwards, Hanley, Bell etc. we would never have been a great club in the 80s
