Quote ="jinkin jimmy"There is absolutely nothing wrong in IL announcing now that Nobby's contract will not be renewed and that a successor is being - or has been - lined up. It happens with players all the time - why not with our coach? The reason IMO is that IL is actually considering keeping him on.

That isn't a very comforting thought.
As to him not having enough time here is a interesting statistic from Mike's site posted by GeoffN:

To save effort for those who can't be bothered to click through:
"Coaches ranked by length of tenure:
1. Jim Sullivan: 20 years
2. Eric Ashton: 10 years
3. Joe Egan: 5 years
4. John Monie (1st spell): 3yrs 8 months
5. Brian Noble: 3 yrs 2 months
the other 25 coaches have all had less time than Nobby."
Now you could say that just proves we sack coaches too quickly given the other 25 have less than 3 yrs 2 months. The trouble with that is many of those 25 were successful such as Lowe who were here obviously less time than Noble.
So anyone arguing Noble has not had enough time is on thin ice IMO especially as all most Wigan fans have expected is year on year improvement not instant trophy success.
