Didn't see the Celtic game but we need Feka, at least he breaks the line regularly. A very handy player to bring on for three short stints to pick up the pace and get us on the front foot in attack. Having said that he needs to get a little more agile as he doesn't seem to slide quick enough in defence, leaving us wide open for a nifty hooker/halfback to exploit.

From what I read the guy's got big ambitions to play in the NRL as well.

Sorry mate but he is the last person we need, Unfortunatly Nathan is well past his sell by date and has very little impact in the NRL these days, Keith Galloway from Wests would be an ideal target as a tough working prop but he has another year to run on his contract, as for an enforcer theres none around, so it looks like we have to be patient on the prop front.

Feka is a talent. Just altogether part of a back pack lead by a manager who isn't able to motivate.

He's job is to come on and smash up the line in 20min spells, to gain as many yards possible. There's no one out there, (maybe Moi Moi) who does it quite like Feka.

He's size adds to his ability to smash the line, if he was supported correctly we'd have more opportunities as he nearly always breaks the line.

He is only there to do 20min spells. Not be an enforcer workhouse or any other kind of prop. He's good at what his game is.

I still contend he would be better if he was fitter. Less bulk but more speed would mean he could still hit the line with the same momentum but could probably regain his feet quicker and contribute more in defence for longer periods too.

It's just an opinion, of course. I accept we have more pressing matters at hand!

I think perhaps the up side of Feka losing some weight would be seen more in his defensive work than his blockbusting drives.

A little more agility and stamina would help a lot in the defensive line IMO.

he as been wigan's best forward! for about 2 years although he does have lapses in concentration and still offloads the ball in silly positions EVERY game but overall i would keep him

It's not necessarily the tackles he misses though, it's the tackles he doesn't even attempt to make because he's walking back to the defensive line after making a run.

He has been our main weapon for the last 2 years without him we would have been in a much worse position. He is prone to the defensive lapse but in my opinion it is worth the failings from what he adds to the team.

What frustrates me is when he does make a half break more often than not he has to turn to offload losing much of the momentum why we do not have either a hooker or a half on his shoulder when he gets his body through the line.

Look at the last play of the Celtic game. Feka gets through the line hands free looking for someone on his shoulder McIllorum is nowhere to be seen neither is any support.

The lack of movement off the ball and support/work for each other is quite frankly shocking.

End of the day Maurie went to the WC this summer as England’s impact prop and currently plays the same role as Feka but in arguably the top team in SL so who else am I going to compare him against? The 80min ginger freak or maybe Peacock or is it you can’t handle the fact that Feka walks all over Maurie in every department so you make excuses like he’s not been playing that long to make yourself feel better?



The Fielden comparison wasn’t for your benefit believe it or not but it showed that Feka isn’t the defensive liability some on here say he is.

Feka has made half as many tackles as Fielden and Half as many missed tackles as well so if Feka is a defensive liability in the Wigan side then so is Fielden.

So if I can’t compare Feka to Maurie or another prop who plays in the same team as him who can I btw?
