I agree with calling it after king billy. Nice one Whelan. Its funny how the latics fans are reacting. They used to get 2000 - 4000 fans a week before getting ito premiership and now all the travelling support puts em up to about 15000. They only get full when the bigger prem teams cone to town! Wigan RL have brought more income to Whelan over the years and its about time Latics caught up.

Would have been funny to name the North Stand after Dean Bell though. Would laugh every time Eddy & stevo said wigan are playing towards the bell end! Childish I know but funny!

KING BILLY STAND has a nice ring to it wonder if they will put his face on the seats like they do with legends at preston would look great in the south stand.

Type in kop flags on google for ideas, there is some quality flags on the kop, there's one with Paisley, Shankley and Benitez on it and the writing "Success has many fathers". Id love us to copy that with people like Edwards Monie and Graham lowe on it.

With regards to the naming of a stand, I think it should be named after Billy Boston or Shaun Edwards. Primarily because I think these names are banded about more than the greats such as Eric Ashton, Jim Sullivan and even possibly Ellery Hanley and therefore I feel that the younger generation would be more familiar with the name of Boston or Edwards.

Many Latics fans stuck two fingers up and laughed when we had to change venue last year and go to Widnes. Well here's two fingers right back at Latics and a good giggle too.

Nothing to do with my 'issues' regarding King Billy but I'd be inclined to name it after Edwards. He's a Wigan Lad and more decorated than any other Wigan player. It may persuade him to 'come home' too.
