Yeah it'll make money but surely a sports bar with a couple of fast food outlets would go down even better.

Thought the same too , it is a big building inside , it would have been a better option to have like you say a sport bar that does food .

Lenagan isn't allowed to be involved with the Latics, and given his stated aims for Oxford United (buying their ground back etc) won't be a credible buyer for a long time.

If IL does buy them (even through a third party a la Murdoch / Bates) it would be because it would benefit him financially . Same as Whelan sold his share in JJB for around £170 million just before it went tits up .These people are not in the situation they are in by being stupid .

Depends on who it is! Wigan Athletic are small time, whether they admit it or not, they are not worth half as much as teams like Sheffield United, Coventry, Leeds..........

But Ian Lenagan is owner and an Executive Director which means he can't be involved in another football club according to FA rules.

Latics in the championship will still be worth a damn sight more than Leeds or Coventry as they are both in a poor financial state. Im not too sure what Sheff uniteds finances are like though.

At the moment though they are still in the premiership which means they are worth a few quid.
