An absolute joke.

I can understand the need to change fixtures, especially when dictated by Sky. Let's face it there would be no rugby league without Sky's funding.

BUT Wigan have marketed this game. The Big One 3 and all that. To accompany the campaign they offered the introduce a friend ticket offers. So I've got four people all coming who don't come to rugby games. I thought it would be a good chance to introduce them seeing as it will be a good game and given the cheap tickets my friends are more inclined to give it a go. Now I don't think a single one of them can make it!!! They work in pubs and restaurants so had to beg, steal, borrow to get the night off. Fingers crossed they can sort something out.

Feel completely let down by the whole situation.

Wigan have not played a Saturday Home game since 2009

so this season will only see 8 of the 13 home games on fridays

I was meant to be in work till 8pm on the Friday but booked a half day so I could get to the game and now I can't for the life of me remember if i'm working Saturday.

I have advance rail bookings Edinburgh to Wigan return Friday / Saturday and a advance hotel reservation @ the Wigan Oak Hotel both non refundable. This would not be the first time this has happened and i lost a lot of money that time too .

Absolute e. I battled my employers to get a fixed shift Sat to Wed to have Friday nights off and bought Seaon tickets expecting that ALL wigans home games are 2000hrs Fri night Kick offs. Digs are booked long term etc etc. Rant over

Yet again TV controls and ruins the plans fans may have made weeks or even months in advance.
There should be an entitlement to compensation, similar to ABTA when your holiday is fooked up.

Wigan should have checked with Sky what games they intended to show before they started marketing "The Big One 3" imo, especially when a quick glance at the fixtures would have shown potential clashes such as this could have happened. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though I suppose.

They have changed the fixture list and they have changed the date on the e-ticket page , have the announced it to the fans on the homepage NO .They have let Bilko and Co do the dirty work for them . Just as well for cherryandwhite or we would all be in the dark. Its not the lost money i care about it is the spineless way the club goes about things at times .

It's not that simple. They'll be having to re-do all the marketing logo's for the event, stuff like that and I suspect they would rather make an announcement when all that is done, probably Monday, maybe sooner.

As far as I'm concerned, I believe Sky should choose their fixtures at three months' notice.

I understand that they want to show the most relevant games, but three months is pretty much the standard window for cheap fares/hotels being available; much later than that, and switching becomes a very pricey business. It's not fair on fans who have distances to travel.

I speak as someone lucky enough to only be a half hour drive from the stadium, so work permitting, I can normally work round the changes, but only a month's notice if you've got a fairly all-consuming job and/or quite a few personal commitments and you can very soon find clashes occuring, quickly negating any value in season tickets (as has ultimately happened to me this season).

I can understand that for a game away at France or London but in the main, I take the opposite view. Whilst I pay to attend games, I equally pay my Sky bill every month and expect the best games to be shown. You cannot predict the best games 3 months in advance.

Whilst I appreciate changes can be a pain in the for some, equally it suits plenty others. Also Sky do actually release dates on when they are going to select their games (they are on my fixture list and tv pages) so really people should know where they stand. This one was a bit unfortunate because it's Sky 3D coverage rather than Sky Sports coverage that has forced the change but it's something we perhaps have to get used to. I'm quite happy with this arrangement because I want the best games on TV.

I got 3 tickets to bring people with me, now they can't come as they're working - it's not happened to me before (must be lucky!) Can I get my ticket money back?

Not sure but I think the club would be wise to offer the money back for people in situations like yours. They surely don't want to put new fans off coming to a game before they've begun.
