Have wondered before when dodgy/poor kits have been released just how bad must the other potential designs have been for that to win and know we have an idea.

Even as an opposition fan I'd feel sorry for you lot if you ended up with either 4 or 6. Like someone said, 6 looks like a cheap carrier bag. 1 & 3 are inoffensive but boring.

2 is a clear winner.

They are all carp (hides flat cap) however out of the 6 I'd say 3 then 1.

I think a good idea would be to have a retro kit every third year instead of the more, shall we say, whacky designs. I have the 1994 Norweb sponsored shirt, which is superb. Obviously you would have to replace Norweb with the current sponsor and also include the other smaller sponsors but an exact replica, retro style shirt would be very popular.

It seems clear that the fans are voting for the closest to a traditional shirt as possible, sending a message that the whole idea of a wacky one is not popular. Yes, wacky ones will still sell, as IL points out, because people want the newest shirt regardless, but given the choice,they'll go for cherry and white hoops.

It makes the whole EU referendum thing seem a bit trivial.

I quite like the idea of the alternative shirt every 3 years. Fans would equally moan if they were peddling out pretty much the same shirt every year. They just need to keep the bones of a traditional shirt and then modify it - ATEOTD the C&W stripes are our brand identity. Chequered, vertical stripes, solid colours etc don't look like a Wigan shirt. There have been plenty of fan made designs kicking around on here that have been brilliant.

A 'different' style of shirt every 3 years is a great idea. I think the problem this time round is that out of the 6 shirts to vote on, at least 3 of them are awful!

i think a better idea would have been to have a fan design comp starting in Jan and then have monthly rounds of voting depending on the number of credible designs that are submitted with a winner picked around August time. That way the manufacturers would have plenty of time to produce them

If the club management like one of the none "Cherry and White" designs so much (which we as fans are not so keen on) then they could always make their choice the away kit and whatever colour they like, Blue, Black or even fluorescent green...........

That would be the way I'd go tbh. Probably with option 5 as blue and white checks, I think that would look pretty good
