Empty seats at a Hudds game. Thats very normal! You shouldn't be surprised that Wigan were surprised that more than 200 turned up. But the title of the thread is OTT and unjustified. Perhaps we should start a similar thread on the Hudds board when Hudds charge us top whack to go to your place when clearly they need a promotion to get more people in.

When Huddersfield regularly bring a decent number than you will get that. The trouble is you usually bring a busload and it is not economical to always do so. Start coming with decent numbers and you will get the North stand all to yourselves as Saints, Leeds, Warrington et all do.

Thank god we only have to put up with them once every 50 years.

Some good points. The problem could have been sorted with hindsight but other people seem to be saying the Wigan fans where being awkward, at the end of the day though that section of the east stand was very busy and i personally don't think there's anything wrong with people wanting to sit in their allocated seats, bit of a different scale but If i turn up at Wembley and a group of people just decide they want to be together because they've bought tickets that are separated and take my seat I'd be saying something too. I think the stewards who said just sit where you want where at fault in that situation really and not really clued up on how many people where expected.

We didnt just decided though, it was the stewards in the stand that turned us away from looking from our allocated seats and told us all to go in the far block and sit where we want. We presumed they would have told the Wigan fans the same !!

I agree the thread title is misleading and unjustified,it was a bit of a farce but no long term harm done.
it actually worked out better for us in the end.

I had groupon tickets, but I sat in ES3 right at the top, plenty of space, sat with some Huddersfield fans too, was a good game to be at in fact, very pleasant and friendly were the Hudds lot

Is it disorientation at being in a crowd of people that had thrown the Giants into disarray? They get offered tickets at a reaonable price, end up with their compadres, all 2000 of them (if you're counting limbs rather than adopting the one person counts one approach), and then we have a storm in tea cup and a dig at people leaving early.
A question for next Year's Huddersfield 11 plus. If 19k Wigan fans begin to leave 10minutes before the end of the game, at what speed would they have to leave for there to be more people left in the ground at the end than would ever dream of watching the Giants play at home (6 marks and you'll need a calculator as it's a big number)?
I will be well in my dotage before we see them throwing their toys around agin, thank goodness.

Who were these plebs? They should be named and publicly humiliated, and then never let inside the stadium again.

Everyone justifies it by it was only a bus load of Huddersfield fans there were far more lat night.

The stewards threatened a Huddersfield lady if she didn't hide her flag five minutes before that huge Wigan number 18 flag was unfurled on the other side. The steward was arrogant over bearing and said he would take her flag if she didn't hide it under her seat. Then low and behold the Wigan flag went up which was ten times and more the Huddersfield flags size that was supposed to be dangerous according to the steward.

Huddersfield fans after a long journey arriving at 7.30pm onwards were struggling to find seats as Wigan fans were in the middle of the stand and yet on the right hand side of the ground there were lots of empty seats at both ends of the side on stand.

Your stewards left an awful lot to be desired and Wigan chose to sell Groupon tickets to anyone so why make the Huddersfield end awkward we just came to support our team nothing else !!

So, we have an allegation of poor behaviour among the Wigan fans and the steward, and the old "Wigan walk" chestnut.
In a reasoned response to these disproportionate slights on our great club I am happy to swing to our whole hearted defence. In comparing and contrasting the behaviour of our fans and our club, it is moot to compare and contrast that, wittily if I may so, with the relative numbers and behaviour of the club making the allegations.
Now, if the Giants fans want to reconsider and begin a thread entitled "We could learn so much from Wigan fans and the Wigan club" then that would be fitting and appropriate.
By all means lay into our half backs and front rowers relative to the Giants' counterparts, but please, spare us the attacks on our fans and club.

The stewarding on Friday night was poor I would not expect the same to happen to the away fans at our ground.

Whether it was the DW or the Wigan club that allowed this to happen I don't know but it shouldn't be repeated.

As for criticising your team nope on the night we just did it better but then again over the last 50 years it's been Wigan more often than not in that position not us.

Didnt see any misbehaving Wigan fans - just a handful complaining about something the stewards had decided to do and kicking up a fuss about it rather than just finding spare seats like most people did quite happily. The stewards were fine and there was little they could have done in the end other than what they did do.

The East and West stands at Wigan are allocated seating. That means that you sit on the same seat as your ticket number. What's so difficult to understand about that?
