IL's own words, after getting back from Aus, he said he & Brian were looking towards 2011 as well as a player for next season.

Which goes completly against what he said when he first took over in as much that '08 would be impossible, '09 would be tough and '10 we would see changes.

That seems to have been pushed back now.

The more and more I see and hear of IL the more and more I'm starting to dislike him.

Broken promises, un-fulfilled obligations, sneaking around behind BN's back (allegedly). I do not see how and where IL is sorting this mess out, all I can see is that he's plunging us deeper into it.

Careful. You can't criticise him around here. One does wonder though what this place would be like if everything was as is, but Mo & Whelan where in charge.

IL will do some media friendly quote to the evening post and everyone will assume everything is super again.

I've not by the way but if I did i'd want to ask him exactly what you've put there about the promises he made for 2010 when he took over and why those promises seem to be getting pushed back a year!

He went to Australia in 2008 saying he was looking at players for 2010 and rumours of a move for the likes of Ryan Hoffman were brewing yet he then went again this year and talked about looking more at players for 2011. Some would say he's planning ahead which is fine but he's got to get the results or people will be royally pi*sed off.

FF are a complete waste of time, money and effort. what really will you find out? the first one at deanery seemed good cos they were writing stuff down we were saying and were all like 'yeah we'll definitely look into that' (west stand score board) but pretty much nothing changed.

The goodthing about Maurice Lyndsey is that he would follow bad news up with good news and I was never like this when he was in charge. After the whole Hock thing/ Celtic loss we should have announced a signing for next year.

If we get beat in the semi final or final then announce the 'marque signing'. To keep the fans happy.

Knowing us we will speak to Price, Civoneceva, Kite, Bailey and then go and sign Don Brennan or Douglas Bader.



Luke Douglas is a decent player for Cronulla, I could see him being on the evrge of Origin next year as will Beau Scott and Mark Minichello (both good second rowers).

We will end up with Ben Ross, Darrell Griffin and Danny Orr/Orford.

I think they would of announced a big signing by now if we had one.

We obviously haven't made a move for next season yet which will probably end up costing us.

We can't keep leaving everything until the last minute because we're just ending up with the dregs!

Whilst Leeds, Warrington, Hull KR and Saints battle it out for the best players we get left fighting with Salford and Cas for the duffers.

We always make panic signings like Roberts was IMO. If we cannot sign anyone top class from overseas who has at least played SOO or played in grand finals then we should be looking to our young players to step up.

Roberts was lined up for 2010 but got signed due to us having the room under the cap to fit him in. That is a shocking way of dealing with squad recruitment. We didn't need a winger because at the start of the year we had Richards, Phelps, Pryce, Ainscough and even Goulding who could play there and we should have held onto the cash and waited to see if a player in a position we needed became available.

If we had done that we then may have been able to make the call that we didn't need Roberts for 2010 afterall and used that money to again bring in a player in a position that was needed.

We also had Colbon who could easily do a good job on the wing for Wigan as long as we got a good centre inside him. Gardner is average but looks awesome with Gidley inside.

Riddell has still not hit form yet as well.

Pretty much all our signings for quite a few years have been poor other than Carmont, Richards and Feka.

All our signings under Lenagan have been backs with the exception of Mark Riddell and thats plain strange when we've had a pi*s weak pack for the past few years.

We've spent big money on wingers time and again over the past 4 or 5 years and i don't honestly get why. Unless you get a freakish wingman like Vainikolo why bother? If your centres are good enough all you need is a plodder like Gardner who can catch and put the ball down. The 2 English wingers(Fox and Hall) in the recent test match are exactly the sort of solid, prety cheap wingmen you can get through with. They both do the simple things well but have good players on the inside of them.

Thats exactly the point I am trying to make, we could of had Ainscough and Colbon on the wings for the next 8 years and then get some quality centres in for them.

Fox and Hall IMO are two quality players but neither are world beaters.

Was Coley not signed under IL as well?
