The media have been rather silent on this the closest to an opinion is that his callup was a "shock". All the commentary has come from the RL community in it's various forms.

RL is the only sport on BBC TV outside football that has nationwide broadcast of a magazine program for it's elite competition, it also covers the the CC. Sky sports treats RL very well. Claiming media in the UK want to denigrate is ignoring the fact that coverage is on a par with it's popularity and participation statistics.

That shows you how important this fixture is (not). The RFU have pulled a fast one in that they are using Sam T to bolster a flagging concept but it still isn't big news.
And that is before we even consider what a crazy idea trying to publicise RL via playing RU actually is.'"

even when the story broke, let alone now most articles seem more concerned with domestic games. Articles covering the game have no analysis or new comment on the ST. |
