Myself and Jimmy Birts have decided after a brief conversation earlier that we are going to have made a couple of flags with Northern Soul themed quotes on them, with it being a huge heritage in Wigan. First thoughts are a flag with "Wigan R.L.F.C Do I Love you, Indeed I do" on it, and another with the same but "Seven days is too long" on it. Also we are going to order a new verve themed flag tommorow with "WIGAN RLFC, LOVE IS NOISE" on it. Whats everyone's thoughts on the Northern Soul ideas??

Why not? Like you say it's a big part of the history of the town.

Love it! Its something different! We don't want a load of just england flags or all similar ones!

I love The Verve ideas. What happened to the "Life is not a rehearsal" idea?? Sounded quality.

With regards to the Northern Soul theme i think we should go with that as well. I like this one..... "WIGAN RLFC", "THE IN CROWD" with the northern soul keep the faith badge in the middle.

We have a few Northern Soul flags at the moment. United have a Stone Roses theme to their flags, Liverpool have loads with Beatles references. We'll get a few done with Northern Soul songs in the design. It's a Wigan link after all. As Paul said, 'Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)' and 7 Days Is Too Long are early favourites.

The FORZA WIGAN LOVE IS NOISE flag will be ordered this week. They played Love is Noise before the start of the 2nd half at the last home game. Coincidence or matchday co-ordinator aware of Wigan connection?

The North Stand? Unsure mate. Divided opinions on that one. Jury's still out.

I can't wait till the stadium is just a sea of colour on match days! Will be great, so much progress in just part of a season.

Personally I cant stand Northern Soul, the link is more to do with the Casino club than Wigan itself, the location of the club is merely coincidental, the Saturday nights at the Casino were filled more with out of town coach parties than with Wiganers, it has as strong a link with Manchester, Blackpool and Stoke as it does to our town, but if people want it who am I to argue, I would have prefered something more original, looking forward to discussing it tonight.
