Where have I claimed to know any of this? However, what I do know is that IL could comfortably have chosen to match anything paid by Sale but chose not to. To then whinge about his financial offer from Sale is a bit lame IMO.

If he has good reasons for not retaining him, such as wishing to stick to a pay structure within the club, then that's fine. It's also fine if the move is about the challenge rather than the pay packet. But until IL tells us more I'll speculate all I like - with or without your approval.

Bitterly disappointed he's left. But to to leave half way through the season disappoints me more, surely he could have waited till the end of the season to depart. Good luck to him, but money's not everything.

He's leaving the top RL club to join a RU club that's always going to struggle because of where it's situated. I'm sure we've all had work colleagues that have moved thinking the grass is greener on the other side when not every time it is.

Very true...Simon does a LOT of stuff behind the scenes and I hope he stays for a long time to come!

As for Mick, I wish him all the best. Maybe its not as bad as it seems, the great ideas and ethos he had have been used and put in place...now for somebody of equally high standards if not better to come in and bring some more!

You really think Sale are going to struggle? I'd say their average attendance would be around 9, 10,000 and the owner isn't shy of a few quid.
Their evolution over the past 10 years has been nothing short of amazing. They are rebranding themselves as THE rugby club of the North West and have Manchester, Cheshire and if the rumours of them looking to move to Leigh SV are true, not far from us to draw on.

It is very bad news for Leigh if Sale RU move in at LSV. The term "cuckoo in the nest" could have been made for them. Look what happened to Stockport County. I would imagine they will probably parasitise Salford instead though.

LSV is owen by the council so they will have the say on what goes.

I think it's great, more money and more chance to get people through the gates.

Sounds great in theory but basically it just means they've no roots. Recipe for disaster in my book.
