I dont give a flying to55 if you belive me or not . Its fact .The whole squd were there including all coaching staff and the guy they brought in from NZ to help with pre season , young ryan king from the academy side was the fastest , karl pryce was last

so all the the coaches and all the support staff are going to go to haigh hall to watch amos roberts and karl pryce run , come on pal show a bit of common sense , It most likely would have been 95% of the squad all the fit players will have been there,

i am going off fact, not assumptions, He may well have been told to take it easy. He may well have been told he does not have to put the effort in all the other players do. he may well have been told the moon is made of green cheese. I have no idea what he was told , what i do know of all the players doing the circuit, like i said in my first post, For whatever reason MR pryce was the slowest round the course. Now IMHO and after talking to a player that was actualy at the session. I made the comment that he needs to get fitter. I think this is a fair post.

Look at Ricky Hatton, weeks of binging on burgers pizza's and guinness, I'm sure he was slow getting back to fitness but was ripped by the time it came to fight night.

Maybe we could get Ricky in to train Piggy.

I not bothered if Pryce is the slowest now I would be concerned if he is the slowest come January/February. He is 18 stone and unfit so I would expect it now but I doubt he will be the slowest come the start of the season.

I think a few pre season games will bring his confidence up and bring the team together, he must feel like an outsider still after being here 2 years and not really playing much.

I always think what the majority opinion would be if he was an overseas player on lots of money or a Wigan lad. I think opinions would change.

I personally think we need to give him a chance, there are many reasons why he clearly has not performed well.

Players should get a clean sheet for a new season and under a new regime it's even more important that we as fans (although we love to moan) are very patient.

He has destroyed defences in the reserve league even when he is playing poor and is unfit. If he gets fit and abides to the plan the coaching staff have for him then I have no doubt he can be a really good player for us.

I would love nothing more than for Pryce to score 3 tries and get man of the match in the first game, but for some reason others are waiting for him to fail.

Not defending Pryce as such but I would have thought stamina wouldn't be the strongest asset of a nearly 19 stone man.

We need him to get fitter of course but its that bit of explosive strength and speed we need from him over short distances to give us more of a cutting edge out wide. Even if he was barely noticeable on the field for 79 minutes, if he comes up with some regular, potential match winning plays which he's clearly capable of - then that would at least be an improvement. I hate the phrase, but he has the potential to be that X factor type player who can change a game when we most need it.

I cannot imagine Feka was there then, even pryce should be able to get through this faster than the big fella.

When I watched the video of Phelps he said the training was "tough but enjoyable" he did seems to say it through gritted teeth.

I do hope all this means when they play their first game they will be fitter, faster and more game aware than the first game last season against Wakefield.

It makes a refreshing change from last year when the players seemed to be trying to convince us that pre season and the trip to Lanzarote had been tough and 'not a holiday'.

Seems that having a coach now who began as a Conditioner is already showing its benefits. They should hopefully be machines by the season. On the matter of Pryce, Im sure if its a fitness issue with him (not an attitude) then I think after coaching sizeable backs like Folau, Maguire should know what to do to get Pryce firing properly

One thing Kris Radlinski wanted to express in his book was about how tough pre-seasons are when the players go away for warm weather training and i am sure that under Noble the pre-season would of been tough.

What is clear from the new set up is that they are using every opportunity to obtain as much performance information as possible to help improve the team during the pre-season.

Training session's are recorded with video camera, the players will have GPS tracking to provide further info about their performance both in training and in games.

It really sounds like no stone will be left unturned.

I'm way ahead of most on here. I boo him when I see his name in print. By the start of the season I'll be spitting venom. Obviously I may change the focus of my attention if one of the foreigners, the fat hooker, throws a bad pass in a preseason friendly.

God help any player that actually makes a mistake in a friendly, especially if he isnt from Wigan.

That's a very pertinent point. Most outright sprinters would severely struggle in a training session like that - it's good that they're put through it though!

Just watch the 1500 metres in a decathlon to see big men suffering. They can all still do sub 10.5s 100m though.
