Seems Celtic are going the same way. They are talking about moving away from Bridgend next season. Shame as I liked the visit there.

They seem to be thinking about going to Rodney Parade in Newport. They also plan to play either Saints or Warrington at Wrexham next year.

Your crowds are great, your rented stadium sorted for 30 years at a set rent and you seem to be operating under the cap for a change. All seems to be well in Wigan. Still puzzled by the preoccupation with away crowd attendance though?

You are ahead of us in the league but we have beaten you twice this season and I am confident we will be ahead of you come the end of the season.

But that is irrelevant we are talking about off field issues and the FACT is your club does not get enough bums on seats. Harlequins should be doing all they can to fill that stadium, the RU do it and even had a huge crowd on next door. Our crowds are nothing to be complained about yet still on friday the club knew there would be an empty stand and did something about it.

I’m all for expansion to other areas of the game but not at the expense of the other teams already in the league. The atmosphere was dead on Friday night and I know it was the first time I’d managed to get a few latics/RU mates of mine down through the Heinz freebie and I wished there would have been the proper banter there normally is.

I honestly thought during one period of the night that I couldn’t see the point in Quins RLFC other than being the last feeble attempt RL has at getting a foothold in London.

IMO irrespective of where the team comes from we should be aiming for a 14 team SL all in good new stadiums, spending up to the cap with fullish stadia and if that means a largely if not total northern based comp then so be it sadly for this moment in time.

Many other teams have broken the cap as well so why aim it at Wigan.

BroncoQuins never finished in a bottom/relegation place, so we will never know if the X-FILE gang were correct in their assumption that we would never be relegeted, but we are still here, we have a licence for 3 years and we are solvent (just) with a great youth system (in its infancy) producing real talent. We carry less overseas baggage than you, sit above you in the table (for now) and our reserves gave you the only game you've had this year to date (with 7 cockneys in our team).

I like wigan, love your ground and believe IL will turn out to be the man who gets you back to the top of the sport in the UK, but I will always defend the club I support from anti-expansionist nutters like some who have posted on this thread.

Not arguing....just pointing out that Friday games are impossible for London fans to attend, we are trying to get an away trip thing going and that we cover 9,500 miles + a year following our team.
At home, the gates are unacceptable and I have said as much many times to the club and on here,,,,,,,but to slag us off for not taking time of work and either spending money on a hotel or getting home at essentially 4.30am, just to attend a Wigan game ona Friday night is just crass and childish ([size=59and another example of anti-expansionist drivel posted by some Widnes fans mascquerading as wigan fans to watch superleague)[/size

I am not concerned about your away support, I said the other day I respect fans who travel but yes your home support is not good enough.

He's already said more than once that their home support is poor. RL has been around the capital for a while, but not at the same place, so any attempt to increase local interest will only really work once they find a ground to stick with. You need to remember that down here RL is almost unheard of. There is nothing like a hundred years of history, no heroes to follow in the footsteps, no attraction to new speccies to get them away from wendyball and yawnion. The London away support will always be poor, but I for one hope they can slowly increase their fan base, and be a success.

We've been playing at our current location for 3 seasons. What do you expect? You have had x number of years in your current guise at locations not dissimilar. We have been shunted all over the place and finally found a realistic solution that we can call home. People bring it up all the time, RL has been in London 30 years and gone nowhere etc, but the fact is we have had no consistency whatsoever. Why have you had the chance of 100+ years to develop and we cannot? Evans transformed Harlequins RU from what we effectively are today into a dominate force in world Rugby Union. Nothing suggests that he cannot do the same for us.
