If the player's partners are paid by a third party it wouldn’t appear on the clubs payroll. EG if the owner of a club owns another company, and that company employs the player's partner their ‘salary’ is invisible on the salary cap audit. Not saying it is happening, just an easy way to do it if you wanted to.

It's not very realistic though is it? All it takes is for one of them to spill the beans either inadvertently or deliberately to a newspaper and that is the club screwed. Any chairman actively doing this sort of thing is hoping everyone keeps the secret for a very long time. Not going to happen.
