Given how settled it’s looking with Woolf I’d imagine it’d be either us or Warrington knocking at his door at some point within the next 12months. Personally I think he’ll do well at either club, whilst not being terrible there’s a lot of improvements to be made at both.

See I don’t think Warrington would be a good fit. I think the influence to bring in big names will not suite Watson, it will probably take him time to get these players under control. Same can be said about Wigan, however I can see Watson promoting our youth set up and getting the best out of them along with a few big names.

I can see him working with either us, saints or Leeds.

Hard to say what he’d do with the academy players because Salford don’t really bother with one. One thing is for sure though, any coach that does come in will have to promote from within or they won’t get the job. I think we know Lam will be here in 2021, so from our POV it’s just a case of him being available in 12 months.

Woolf is contracted to the end of next year with an optional year in our favour. So potentially we are on the lookout for a new coach in 12 months. A lot can happen between now and then though of course.

He strikes me as a real rugby league enthusiast, so I do think he’d love to have the chance to work with an academy of the quality of Wigan or St Helens. It would be a very different group of players he’d have to work with at Saints or Wigan. I’m sure he’ll get a chance within the next 12-18 months at a bigger club. I look forward to seeing how it goes.

To Huddersfield? Strange one. I’d choose Hull over Huddersfield but perhaps he sees the latter as a more challenging and rewarding prospect. Woolford had laid some good foundations to build on

He mentioned not wanting to disrupt his daughters schooling as a reason for not going to Hull, so I guess this works in that regard with it being just over the Pennines. Funny that some doubted if he’d accept a job at Wigan and he’s gone to Huddersfield! Safe to say we wouldn’t have had to worry on the answer if he was asked the question.

Just been announced he has left Salford. Is Huddersfield confirmed?

I have been impressed by Huddersfield this season and with a bit of luck and the ability to win tight games they’d have made the play offs, if Watson can work his magic he could turn them into contenders. Was Hastings Sezer love in after the game last week because he knows he’s partnering him next season?

I heard he’d left just before it was announced and he’s going to Huddersfield. It’s would either have been their or FC and I think FC is a harder challenge than Huddersfield. I think Radford has brought in to many bulky players at FC. They struggle with the speed of the game, especially now with the 6 again rule.e
