Quote Finfin="Finfin"Do I really have to spell it out? The matches were won in the forwards. Smith and Green did a great job of capitalising on this.
There are some touchy people on here, let me reiterate I have not bagged the Leeds forwards, just pointed out their average age and questioned whether they have any improvement in them from last year.'"
Not touchy at all, just debating a point. You've gotten all touchy when people have questioned it which they're allowed to do.
Forwards lay a platform for the backs, one without the other and any team is going to struggle to win titles.
Forwards don't win titles,
Backs don't win titles,
Both together win titles.
As for Leeds' forwards. Peacock sounds fresh and ready to go and feeling the benefit of another full pre-season. Sinfield won't be loose. Ablett I think could have a big year if left to the backrow instead of his almost customary switch to fill in at centre (perhaps more possible with the addition of Briscoe in the backs). Two not mentioned, Singleton (Front Row) and Ward (backrow) are both young and big things to come from them. Liam Sutcliffe too may get some games in the backrow. Bailey as is usual, can be good when he concentrates on playing instead of being villain. Delaney I think is underrated by plenty in the league, he's struggled with injuries but still only 28.
Leuluai I would say is a worry if still starting. If Singleton steps up to start with Peacock then Leuluai can do a decent job off the bench though. JJB just needs less minutes and a spot on the bench maybe.
My starting forwards would be.....
8 - Singleton
9 - Aiton
10 - Peacock
11 - Ward
12 - Delaney
13 - Ablett
14 - Leuluai
15 - Bailey
16 - JJB
17 - Burrow (prefer to see Burrow come off the bench for Aiton but fear it'll be Burrow starting)
