It was quite ironic that few years ago, the worse we seemed to get, the higher the attendances we got! and yet they stick knock us with the 'Wigan walk'!!!!

I mean look at Bradford this year!

The myth of the 'Wigan Walk' was invented by letter writers to the Rugby Leaguer back in the dark days of the late 80s and early 90s (dark days for everyone but Wigan, that is), when there seemed to be no way for anyone else to get even with us. Much like the "you were the only fully professional team in the league, and that's why you won everything" nonsense. Both were complete lies, but both of have lasted until modern times because those who perpetrate them, deep down, are still petrified of us.

Don't forget my personal favourites: You bought all the best players just so the other teams didn't have them, even if it meant not selecting them. And the star comedy turn, You got yourself into financial trouble from paying out too much wages.

Yes. I remember a heated debate at the Wigan Beer Festival once, when a Leigh fan assured me that Wigan had only won everything in the 80s and 90s because they'd signed the entire Austrlian team.

Well done to both the club and the fans, it's great to see.

Tremendous effort, let's see if that transfers over to next season after WW are crowned champs.

Quite a few sold this morning-total sales so far 13902 with just 4744 left to buy. Ill go for 15.5-16K on!

Now that we've reclaimed the best supported RL side tag we need to target best supported rugby club in the UK. I think Leicester are top dogs (17K) and London Irish & Quins might also be on 16K apiece

Congrats - great to see big crowds at DW and even better that they are making the latics look humiliatingly small by comparison.

Easy next season if the marketing team carry on as they have done!

2 sell-outs (or close to) against Wire and Saints
Quins game will be a target and I'm sure they will try and pass the 20k mark
Leeds game will hopefully pull more than this year, hopefully over 18k
We will no doubt sell around 2k more season tickets than this year
I am certain that the marketing team will pull something else out of the hat

If the team can emulate this season or improve then we will see a natural increase. I think we will win more home games next season as well which should help. The losses at home to Quins, Wire and Saints really put a downer on things at home.

Leicester Tigers are the top dogs. Just nipped onto their site (which is in exactly the same layout/format as ours) & looked at their attendances for last season & I can safely say we're a fair amount behind them.

It'll be a long tiome before we're anywhere near those figures!

Well we won't reach those figures for quite some time yet unless we have a huge price drop.

I will never understand why they get such high crowds. No doubt they will be filling Welford road when it is increased to 30,000 as well.

Its all good. I cant handle all this good feeling and positive news from the club this season. It doesnt feel right!

Have we announced a new CEO? What about sponsors? Where is the statement about Gareth Hock? What about Stuart Fielden's contract?

The club is a shambles.

I can't for a moment comprehend why Union is seen as the better sport. It is ridiculously boring. I would love a die-hard Union fan to tell me what it is they see that is so attractive about the game.

I would never claim to be a "die-hard" RU fan, I enjoy watching the odd game on tv, but I haven't been to a live game since the early 90's.

The main thing ( though not the only thing) I enjoy about RU is the forward play. The contest at the scrum, ruck and maul, and to a lesser extent lineout. Watching a prop slowly dismantle his opponent over the course of a match; the body position of a wing forward such as McCaw entering the ruck/maul; the timing of the lift/jump/throw at a lineout; the footwork of a No8 at the scrum etc etc I find the technical aspects of the forward play fascinating.

Plus what exactly IL doing with his Quins shares?

And who will have the lowest body fat content next season when John Walker has gone?
