That is a good point. However, we are going off quality. As some (most on this board/) people believe that the boos are cause of his talent.

Well I have seen the most talented person to ever play (according to many) and I don't remember boos (I could be mistaken)

On another note, I also believe that someone like Keiran Cunnigham was more talented that Sam is now. He was strong leader, devastating and rarely made mistakes. Also, I think it was only Wire and Wigan fans that ever got into him and that was because of the dislike those fans have for saints players.

Sam is a great find and could be one of the best the british have ever produced but he is no where near there now.

I have been watching Wigan for thirty years and in my opinion, Sam is the most exciting Wigan youngster since Shaun Edwards, in fact I'd say Sam is arguably slightly ahead than Shaun was at 22.

I honestly can't comment on that.

However, when I said loads I was referring to the fact that I see a lot of people who have a track record ahead of Sam at the moment and I don't think I am in the minority.

I have said that he is class and has that golden aspect; potential. He is reaching all the goals I think people are setting out for him. But, as I have said he has the niggly quality (such as trapping the arm) that other fans really hate. I am sure that is something that endears him to Wigan fans (as a Wire who likes Lee Briers, I get it) but he isn't making himself any friends in the terraces outside of Wigan with his school boy antics.

That is the reason I think this booing campaign has started.

If we're cheering Leeds' England players we need to do it on a noticeably ironic way, e.g. by shouting "Hooray!!" in an exaggerated, RU-esque manner.

Sam Tomkins isn't getting boo'd purely on the basis of his talent. I'm against booing him completely, however anyone who thinks Tomkins is getting boo'd exclusively because of his ability reveals quite a narrow-minded victim complex on their part. It doesn't justify booing a player who plays for England whom everyone someone be supportive of, however the niggly part of Tomkins game is what has bred this booing compaign.

You can argue that the 'niggly' factor is part of his drive which makes him different from other players, but he needs to concentrate on eliminating the deceptive part of his game if he is ever to be considered in the league of 'classy' and respected players such as Cunningham and the like.

Yeah it needs to be like when the team sheet is read out and theres a short "wayy" for every player.

That way its short and may put them off more than just cheering normally.

I think he already has. I haven't seen him do that arm trapping thing for quite a while now. Has he done it this season at all?

I wish that the people who need to find an excuse for the so called England fans that Booed Sam need to pull the heads from their own backside and concentrate on the own team.

As far as i am concerned they are nearly as bad as the fans that booed him in the first place!
