The season ticket discount only applies when it's the season ticket holder using the tickets - nowt to prevent it if it's like-for-like, but I doubt you'd get away with getting the £3 off when buying students instead of OAP's.

Just to clear up the E-Ticketing situation, it seems it's a case of either-or in terms of season tickets or general sale, so after much to-ing and fro-ing with Ticketmaster Systems (who insist that it was the first time they've dealt with such a situation despite looking after plenty of other clubs!), it's been sorted that any season ticket holders can now purchase their seats online and even over the phone if diverted to the Ticketmaster call centre. Apologies for any problems that may have been caused - it is the first time the new E-Ticketing system has been in use for a game where season ticket holders need to claim their seat, so it has been a bit of a learning curve and hopefully now ironed out.

As a bit of an aside, there were nearly 750 phone calls today for only 5 telephone lines (over 100 of which were at 9.01am) so I think it's inevitable that there will be long queuing times and people diverted to Ticketmaster.

That's my point you don't need to queue (either in person or on the phone) if you wait a day or so.

I've noticed that a lot of Wiganers like to do two things:

1. Moan
2. Join queues they don't need to.

Uber Wiganers like to combine the two and moan about the length of queues they didn't need to join in the first place.

Surely yesterdays e-ticketing/phone farce made an impact on the actual figure sold. I just hope its not put too many people off buying later in the week.

I dont see why it would! Anyone who is put off because they couldnt get their season ticket seat within 2 mins of them going on sale despite having 3 days needs to have a look at themselves!!

6k in a couple of days is really good. Thats two thirds of season ticket holders. More season ticket holders will still buy tickets and then there is genral sale and walk up on the day which will boost the crowd to well over 10k without away fans.

The last two attendances in 2007 just demonstrate what a massive away following can do for the total figure.

I'd hope that we can break the 10,000 barrier and then anything from 13K+ would be a respectable attendance.

Generally crowds for play-off game are lower than the regular season crowd between the corresponding teams.

I say this every year but it still astounds me that people who go all year (mainly ST holders) don't bother going to home games when the season is on the line. This seems to apply to all teams, not just Wigan.

I ve just been and picked 2 tickets up no prob about 3 in a que young lad in front got asked if he was a season ticket holder , he said no but she still served him too , which I thought was good not turning him away

She wouldn't turn him away. He is entitled to buy a seat that isn't normally used by a season ticket holder. He can buy any of those seats whenever he likes.

I'm with Wigan/Leeds Andy on this, no idea why people panic at 9.15am on the first day of sales when their seat is perfectly safe until 5pm three days later! I rang this morning, got both tickets I needed and got through in a nano-second. Took less time and less effort than standing around at the ground for an hour or farting about with Ticketmaster!
