Yes £35 would be money well spent. Even attending games one misses so much of the game when reviewed later.

Eon Media are the one's that have taken HKR by the scruff of the neck and thrust them in to the media world of Football. The benefits as already highlighted are greater revenue from the sales, sponsorship and marketing.

The person (the only person on these 4 pages) who didn't think it was a good idea, have you even looked at the product? There are still things for non-members to watch such as interviews with players or the coach. Before each game they announce the squad before the rest of the press get the chance and basically any big news stories can get extra sponsorship and people tune in to see it first!

The website is completely different too, while heavily advertising the HKRtv it still has the news from the club and you deffinately do not have to be a member.

For a club like Wigan you are looking at less than a £ per first team game, add the 18's and 20's to that and you're talking nearly 30p per game of rugby with interviews, fun and games with the players, announcements, games from years gone by...etc

Whether this is a first year thing while they dip their toe in the water or a regular price I have to say breaking it down into price per content it is very very cheap.

What I think they do need to do is charge for the game on a weekly basis. Away fans that can't make the game but do want to watch the 80mins could surely get a temporary pass and I think they would appreciate the chance. When you think it is a minimum of £50 per adult to go to an away game (ticket £20, Fuel £20 (based on two in a car going from Hull to Wigan) food & drink £5, parking £5ish) you have to say even charging £10 or the price of one adult ticket would be a pretty good saving!

I think you may find that it would affect attendance figures, i mean why pay £18 per week when u can pay £35 and watch the entire seasons matches, its just my opinion.

Firstly you will never beat the atmosphere of a live game and witnessing great rugby in person is so much better than watching it on TV. Secondly the games are aired mid week, I don't know about you but I couldn't avoid a Wigan scoreline for 4/5 days.

Bloody right I'd pay for it. I live in New Zealand now so I only get to watch the odd game shown on sky unless I'm back home for a visit. I'd pay for it right this second if it was available.

It would be a great idea. I'd love to see Warrington to do something similar. £35 is a very decent price as well.

The club got emailed the question by a member of our focus group simply because of your post. This was the response.

As usual I don't really have one. Was just saying to the above poster that not everyone would want to avoid the score for 3 days. Some would quite happily wait 3 days to watch it as opposed to going.

I don't think anyone has seriously suggested avoiding the scoreline for a few days until the footage reaches the website!? People will still want to watch the games even if they already know the score.

Hmm... Fair enough. Though never in a million years is that what this sort of service would be for. You would either go to the game/watch on Sky/listen on radio/check internet or whatever you would normally do and then if it was not one of the Sky games you would have an option to watch it back a few days later. It's nearly impossible to avoid scores for a few hours these days with Facebook/Twitter/SSN etc nevermind 3 or 4 days!

Agreed if this service was available for me it would be to re-watch live games or away games I couldn't attend, the argument that it would reduce crowds is a nonstarter.

Yes definately and it sounds like a great idea. But it needs to be done properly. I.e not in an amateurish way with a camcorder

I have no experience with this type of service but it would be great to be able to see full match replays of all home and away games midweek... with a back catalogue on demand sort of service so that we can watch a lot of previous games too. and classic games.

would it be a case of having a limited period to watch a match though? I.e we play on a sunday, the match is available from tuesday for a few days and then it's gone? or would it still be kept available?

at £35 quid for a year it sounds like an absolute bargain and would be worth every penny. and definately something I'd be interested in.

Explain SKY Sports live footage when Wigan are on then? Wigan attendances still hold up pretty well, as Bilko stated earlier in the thread - a high percentage of Wigan's matches are televised live yet we averaged 16k last season.

Yet people think that matches shown 3-4 days after the game has been played will seriously affect attendances? I doubt it.

£35 is the cost for HKR. Could you imagine what the cost would be for the most famous club in the world !
