Is there strict dimensions for the flag to hang up or could you put a 12ft by 8ft plus flag up?

I'm pretty sure its 6ft high max for the gantry.

It's a tight call. However the ale is better at the Bowling Green if old Juke is of a mind to move

It really needs to be no more than 6ft High if possible.
As Odem says the Gantry is 5ft so a 6ft flag only has a minimal overhang, anymore and the bottom will either have to be pulled under and/or will obstruct the view of people at the back of the stand?

Is there a limit to how many can be put up?? I mean there is only so much room isn't there, has anybody worked out how many will fit?

17 will fit up there.

There's approx 130ft of space per Gantry (South/North). There are some areas of the gantry that we have to leave gaps due to the CCTV cameras etc.

That means we can put up approx 20/21 flags on each stand, obviously dependant on how many 5ft or 6ft there are.

We currently have 5 x 6ft flags and 14 x 5ft flags using 100ft of space so we could probably get at a push 2 x more on the South Gantry.

As we have intimated we have a verbal ok to go above the North meaning we have room for in total approx 40/42 flags.
I'm sure we can sort that for the Saints game at Home!

Has phase 2 now been postponed then?

I was thinking (dangerous I know).... when we first moved to the new stadium everyone used to bring flags to wave, loads of people had them, hopefully people will start to bring them again once all the flags are done.
Also, for the Latics v Bolton game, they gave everyone a flag, maybe we should do the same for the St Georges day game or the Big one. Get a sponser name on it and it will cost next to nothing.

Don't forget to factor in the gaps in between each flag though. Won't take up much space, but even leaving 6 inches between each of the 19 we have takes 9 foot off the space we can use.

There are also one or two flags that need replacing up there. I heard the ‘Higgy RIP’ flag is beginning to break up as it isn’t the same quality as the others. After the gantry is full, there are the disabled bays.

I’m not in favour of going over to the North Stand. It wouldn’t look right. The flags represent a bank of Wigan support. They mark out ‘our end’

Once the gantry’s full we need to decide whether or not to go for an ‘Ultras’ style display with large flags on poles within the stand, similar to those on the Continent and on the Anfield Kop. Phase 2!

i agree! i still have a couple of quins ones from when they were giving hundreds of them out and quins away the other year. get worthingtons or bet 188 or pier fun casinos on them amd jobs a gud 'un
