He was the best forward in his bank though.
Power pace try scorer, add to lazy lacklustre no bottle. Ended up a great water carrier at the Bulls.

| If touch wood, ISA or Farrell miss game time.
I’d be happy for Wells to have a return to the first team.
Or Smithies to move to Second row, he’s great but my minor criticism of his is he doesn’t make many yards. Could suit behind further out wide, considering we have so many “middles” available.

It worked short term, when he had Wane coaching him but it’s all unravelled. His head knocks haven’t helped but it was the injuries after that, where he’d look like he’d ruptured his ACL or dislocated his shoulder, only to find out it was a slight bang that were the biggest concern.'"
Why did Gold Coast Titans sign him then, if he was doing nothing at Saints?
And I would not say that a couple of head injuries were hardly a "slight bang" in a physical game like rugby League.

He was not the only one!
I know the conditions were bad, but the whole team looked disinterested judging by the number of mistakes, players not talking to each other or consoling each other if they made a mistake.
Even Manfredi made mistakes and I saw nothing in the game to warrant his early return to the first team.
If the Reserves played the same way against a better team like St Helens, it is hardly surprising they were beaten so easily.

You’ve misinterpreted both points. Firstly I said he didn’t look like a Wigan player, not that he didn’t look like any teams type of player. Wigan were famed for bringing through and bringing in gritty competitors with an aggressive edge and he was never that. Secondly I’ve not said his head injuries were ‘slight bangs’, I said that about the injuries that took him off the field after his comeback from the concussions. He went down like he’d been shot with a knee problem and a rib issue and looked like he was done for the season but both turned out to be very minor problems.

| Interesting that Agar sees Greenwood as a prop rather than a back row. He certainly has the size and athleticism to make a good prop IMO. We might have missed a beat there but I don’t think his game time would have changed at all given who is in front of him at prop anyway.

| When I saw they were moving him positions I assumed to Centre.
If he goes missing in the second row when the hard yards are required I’ve no idea what he is going to do as a prop.
I do though expect he will have a good start to his Leeds career until he secures a contract then performances will return to where they were for Wigan last year.
Hope I’m wrong but doubt it.

Not entirely sure it's a good idea to put someone with a (recent) history of concussions at prop, but Agar knows better than me. Allegedly.
And i thought the same thing. The problem most have with him at second row is not doing enough, so why move him to prop? Putting second rows at prop is a Wigan thing and even we didnt do that with him.

And why did Gold Coast Titans bin him off?
As for his poor game in the reserves, then had it been a one off then fair enough but was the same lackadaisical player v Leeds and Leigh in the warm up games, then again in the reserves game at Widnes.

Is it a case of him just not being happy at the club anymore? All you’ve stated are tell tale signs IMO

Quite right, you told us he'd be on his way out over the off season in a swap deal for a Salford or Saints player. Now he's on loan at Leeds a month into the season. Smashed that one

| Quote ="100% Warrior"I liked Greenwood, I thought he outshone Faz for a while when he first came. He ran decent lines and was reliable in defence and attack. Multiple head injuries and others are bound to knock a lads confidence so I’m a bit disheartened when I see so many calling for his head, similar to what’s happening to J Burgess now.
Ultimately and rather sadly he wouldn’t have played for Wigan again save for an injury to Faz and/or Isa. Personally I’d have had him starting with Faz and Isa on the bench but that’s irrelevant now.
I hope he does well at Leeds and shows the doubters what he is capable of. He was a class signing when we brought him in and some are quick to forget that.'"
I agree. It's amazing how quickly players thought to be superfluous at Wigan suddenly become rubbish. Happens [iall[/i the time.
As to Greenwood he's a left sided player and looked great in that side when Faz was out. Greenwood & Bateman was a better 2nd row than Faz & Bateman that season by some distance. Faz is also a left sided player and neither Faz nor Greenwood look the same player on the other side of the pitch. Perhaps him being a lefty should have been taken into consideration before signing him?

For some reason he was not favoured by their new coach at the time who never gave him a chance, Garth Brennan. In 2017 he played 22 times for them. In 2018 following Brennan's arrival he was binned off to Burleigh Bears and didn't play another NRL game. Brennan by the way was sacked after 18 months having won only 12 out of 40 games.

i know you lot have had this discussion on here a fair bit, but i always recall him playing on the right whenever he was for saints against warrington, usually running through richie myler, who defended on the left.

I have a feeling that Greenwood could be on the way to Warrington at season's end as a replacement for BMM

| In our group who go together I'm the one who's defended Greenwood the most.
He played left side most of last year up to Faz's return about mid June (bar a couple of decent games early season Greenwood was a shadow of his 2018 version).
His performances in the reserves have been poor and the HKR one was bordering on Awful.
I would have picked him before now, certainly Cas away, but at the end of the day he has to find that fire in his belly from somewhere to find his way back in.
Blaming an NRL coach who won 12 in 40 has nothing to do with Greenwoods attitude 2 years later (Ps, his successor won 5 in 24 in 2019 and only a few of the last 10 or so 2018, so less than Brennan).
I know personally someone who went to the Titans training camp pre season late 2017 and the first thing he told me was that Greenwood was miles behind all the other players, Sarginson was struggling but he was giving it everything and the coach couldn't argue with his work ethic, less so Greenwood.
I think a fully firing Greenwood is an asset, but a poorly motivated Greenwood isnt doing the feel of the camp much good. He needs to go away and find some enthusiasm from somehwere landing it's at another club good luck to him. If it isnt then Wigam need to make a decision because if he doesnt impress at Leeds there wont be an awful lot waiting for him when he returns unless being away changes him.

Once again Grimmy, you are wrong about everything. It wasn't me who said that, it was likely somebody else. I was the first to bring up that he would be going way back around the start of November but i did not mention any swap deals.
