Long is still overall the best 7 in SL. Experience, good organizer, rips defenses apart with quick scoots can pass the ball well and knows how to win a game.
Did people watch the KR game or the WIre game? He's exactly what we need. Tommy couldn't organize a sex party at cronulla and has no ball distibution, he's never a 7.

Why anyone wouldn't want this to be true is beyond me, he's still by far the best number 7 in the league and he's perfect for Sam Tomkins to learn off, id take him for a year, maybe even 2.

Tomkins, Long, Tommy, Piggy and McIlloram. Slowest 6 7 and 9 partnership in the history of man. Only Tomkins you would expect be able go half length of the pitch.

A point most seem to be missing, those two with Tommy @ 9 whilst potentially excellent would be a risky option.

If we are actively looking for a scrumhalf then Riddell is going home or McIllorum is off out on loan next season.

I didnt say I didnt want him. I would personally prefer one of the other players.
A 2 year deal for someone with Long's injurys getting more consistent is a big gamble.
It could be the sort of "shock" move that could actually help us. Then again, we took Millward like a shot  |

He is in 2 minds to either take the 1yr deal at saints or go Warrington.

Tim Smith is far and away the best 7 in the league. The bloke has more natural talent than Longy could dream of. We have only seen flashes of what he can do. Anyone seen him play at Parra before his problems will agree. I would like him to stay at least another year. |

But now he has problems, not the same player as he was at Parra, nowhere near, I dont believe he will be at Wigan next year. |

Briers is on his way and Monaghan has been rumoured to be leaving end of 2009.
Wire will spend the money to get Long on a two year deal and Myler on a four year deal.
We will be after players at half the price who are half as good!
