3 props in a 17 man squad is not how we play when we are at our best. This together with so many players who are not match fit could be our Achilles heel. Sincerely hope I'm wrong but I think the players coming back could be too late for this game and more importantly for me for our chances in SL.

The other option is Bateman could start in place of ISA.
That would mean we have FPN and Sutton as starting props, T and Joel on Bench as replacement props and ISA To give lockers a 20 minute breather either side of HT.
4 props of FPN, Sutton, T and Joel would be ok.

| I think Bateman has to start if he's fit. If there's the slightest doubt around Tomkins, then I think it could be a massive risk playing him. Hope i'm proven wrong though...

| The only doubts would be around match fitness you'd think. I cannot see them taking any sort of risk with the injury so fingers crossed they'll be able to get him through the game. We need Tomkins the most imo because Tierney is no fullback. If they don't think Tomkins is ready but Gelling is then they need to look at another option at the back.

| Been informed (take it as you wish, I am) that Bateman will be playing Sat, but there is still some doubt about S Tomkins, so wouldn't be surprised if he missed out. As someone has already said if he's not 100% don't risk him.

If Tomkins is not ready Budgy to full back and Davies on the wing with Gelling.

| If Sam does play, we'll need fullback cover on the bench as it's unlikely he'll be match fit enough to play the full 80. Whether that's Tierney, or juggling things around a lot with a second row to centre, a centre to wing, and a winger to fullback...

Maybe play him off the bench. If Tierney is having a mare he can come on at FB, otherwise we have the option to bring him in the halves with Leuluai moving to to give McIlorum a breather as we used to do in 2010/11 with Deacon on the bench

| If Tomkins is not fit dont play him and leave Tierney out needs a rest must be carrying a knock, we have two centres back now and three wings one of the wingers to full back.

No problem with this if Tomkins is not fit but I'd leave Tierney out because carrying a knock or not, he's been bloody awful and not good enough.

| So Hill is banned. We should take any bit of luck we can at the moment but we should also remember that both Hull and Leigh had lots of players out and we still got whacked.
It'll likely be a very nervy game but if we turn up 100% committed then I would back us to win.

| Wire have a soft streak down the middle also, which has just lost its main source of yards. Huge game for both as the loser will have little positive to play for

Definitely, should never have been in that position! When SOL goes off we're fooked.
Saved by Dec Patton missing a sitter because Wire had all the momentum so probably would've gone on to win in extra time.

| A win's a win in the cup anyway. We will probably go on and win it now.
Bateman and Faz superb, Isa was good off the bench and McIlorum did well.

| A win is a win, especially in the Cup, but we made that a lot harder for ourselves than it needed to be. A hot day, but lots of basic errors ensured that Wire stayed in the hunt ... along with Ben Thaler, of course, who on that show is surely setting his stall out to be the new Silverwood.

| Just on the way back. Never have I been at a game where we've won in those circumstances yet I've not gone mad with excitement at the end. I was totally dismayed, some if it with ourselves for letting them have a sniff due to silly errors but mainly due to the absolute 'homer' of a performance from Thaler. You win some and lose some during a game with referees but we lost pretty much the every time today. We played with far more intensity then Wire from minute one and got hammered for it over and over.

That was one of the worst examples I've seen of a referee attempting to influence the outcome of a game. Some of those decisions were ridiculous.

| Sick of saying this but why is Wane playing MM and SOL at the same time? Yet again we lost control when they got spelled. On the performance of Thaler we got away with a blatant forward pass for a try but Wire should have had two men sin binned. Finally, I noticed TT didn't return? Nothing serious hopefully.

You just want it reffing the same for both teams. Anything from Wigan was stampted down on immediately whereas the other way round a blind eye was turned time and again. As I said I just think Wigan's greater intensity early doors was clamped down on and that's a farce.
That's before we discuss a trip and an off the ball infringement by Hughes which were let go with just a penalty when both had to be yellow cards.
Beaumont put his cards on the table after a heavy defeat a few weeks back and you tend to look bitter in that scenario but on today's display he can't be far wrong. It's easier to sit here with the win and bag the ref.

I was gonna post similar but didn't want to triple post.
It looked like we didn't even take it dead in goal so should've just been play on.
Thaler had a shocker all game.
