Deacon is a good player but some of the things Long did tonight especially in the first 20 mins with his jinking runs sets him apart from a player like Deacs who is roughly of the same age and experience.
Sean Long is a c0ck but I’d have liked to see him work with Sam and pass some of that cockiness and even arrogance onto him as imo it’s what sets the good HB’s likes Deacs and the great HB’s like Long apart.

Long struggled tonight at times but then that only to be expected on the back of a pack getting outplayed as the Hull set did tonight. He isn't the Long of 3 or 4 years ago but he's still a threat especially when the big games come around and I think that will be the case until he retires.
On a consistant basis he's not been the same player for a good while now but we saw in last years play offs that he's still got some fantastic one off preformences in him.
