| I suppose this sums up why we have offered Coley and Phelps a new contract. Every week on people's top three Phelps and Coley are usually always mentioned.
1. Cameron Phelps. Outstanding performance. Absolutely top draw - his work with Kris Radlinski is paying off.
2. Sam Tomkins. Was a handful for Leeds all night. Stood well in defence as well. Brilliant back pass for George Carmont to setup up that try also finished off the winning try under the posts.
3. Joel Tomkins. Kept running hard and strong all night. Had a pop at JJB and then scored a try straight after! That's the way to respond.
TBH it was unfair to pick a top three they were very good tonight. (Apart from maybe Fielden )

| 1. PHELPSY- He ran his blood to water for us last night, he could be the best bit of business we have done for some time!
2. SAM TOMKINS- he shown why he will be england 6/7 for years to come, that ball he through inside for leuluai for hansens try was great and his try was fantastic.
3. FLANAGAN- he really stood up for me last night, he has definately improved since his loan at halifax.

Oh dear! It's O'Loughlin and it's obviously escaped your notice that we were playing better with him in the side and actually dipped in form for a couple of games prior to last night. Never mind...poor trolling attempt.

| I keep trying to pick my 3 and i keep changing my mind! The most impressive thing last night was how the whole 17 played, they were full of fight and good attitude even 10 points down and the homegrown kids impress me more everytime i see them play together, by good luck or good judgement Nobbys got a hell of a team at the moment, Bring on Friday!

| 1. Joel - awesome last night - especially in defence. He tackled everything that moved! Defo MOM for me!
2. Phelps - was an extra half back for us and caused many problems.
Cant pick a 3rd - the rest of the team. If you had to force me to pick, Coley! Best game in a Wigan shirt for me last night.

| From a neutral's (ha!) POV I thought Richards and Phelps were outstanding for you. They seemed to be everywhere and just at the right time. I hope they've peaked!!
Sam Tompkins did some great work too, I have to add. I'm very much hoping that Kyle Eastmond is both playing and on form next week because I'd love to see Tomkins and Eastmond go head to head. They could create mayhem.

No he isn't he is showing exactly why he should be playing full back and chiming into the line like he is doing

Gleeson did have a pretty decent game as captain but that said,I disagreed with it a couple of weeks ago, but Sam Tomkins is showing for me that he is the future captain of this club....the way he was directing them all around last night even though hes only 19!! His game is fantastic and just improves week by week! He is a natural captain IMO..and I while I wouldnt want to burden him with the captaincy just yet give him 2 years and he'll be ready...he is the superstar that could lead the wigan revolution in the next 10 years for me!

Not see the back on the inside pass for the first try which split the defence?
Did you not see the chip kick from Phelps that was so accurately placed Ryan Hall had to stretch for it and knocked on?
He is a good fullback but you can see why he was rated as a good stand off.

Yeah I did see both of them but he is better off being left were he is so he can pick and choose the time to come in and do them things. It gives us more options with him at full back

I think Phelps would make an Ok stand off but who's gonna make way for him? If you him at 6 it will push Sam to 7 that leaves Tommy at 9 along with piggy and no place for McLorum, I'd leave it as it is he can do all those things youve mentioned above from the fullback role.

Of course you can, but leaving him at fullback means that we have when everyone fit
Lockers,
Sam
Tommy
Phelps.
These four give us options. Put phelps at 6 and one is left out as the replacement fullback then cannot chime into the line as well.
Its the best attacking option we have had for a long time, lets not balls it up, as with the two centres, and the options in the back row. I really only think we a prop away before fielden leaves!

Evidently I wasn't clear with what I posted. I can see characteristics in his game of a stand off and subsequently I can see why the Aussies rated Phelps as a stand off and why he earned International and Origin rep games at U19's playing at stand off but I do agree with all of you that he should be kept as a fullback for the reasons you mention. He is the best fullback at the club at the moment, gets better each week and is a brilliant attacking threat close to the line.

Just to throw this out there, but if Phelps was to more to 6, would that make an opening for Karmichael Hunt??????????????

My 1-2-3 would be:
Preccy
Joel
Piggy

Coley was like a man possesed at times and took some very big hits from the Leeds forwards yet carried on driving the ball up.

| Probably not MOTM but I thought Mossop was brilliant when he came on.
He was always looking for the ball in attack and made yards everytime. Sometimes, I despair with our forwards cos few go looking for the ball they all just want to defend. It was refreshing to see Mossop do this and he made good yards everytime.

| 1. Phelps - Had an outstanding game.
2. S. Tomkins - Attacked the line, unlike Tommy, and caused Leeds a few problems with his kicks.
3. Prescott - How hard is he?
Special mentions to Mossop, who looks the real deal. Coley had a solid game as did Gleeson and Paddy.
