I'd agree with that, he reminds me a bit of Feka, those big barnstorming runs make him a fans' favourite but he struggles to maintain it over the course of a game, and can be lazy in defence.

That was my point in my post saying he needs to do longer minutes. He did Masoe/Feka style minutes yesterday when he's capable of staying on for longer IMO. I bet he was only on the field for a total of half an hour yesterday in his 2 stints. Larne Patrick on the other hand must have played best part of an hour and was much less effective.

He turned the game like you say. I thought that was one of his best performances against us tbh.

The one thing he does always seem to do though is give away a silly penalty or two.

I really rated Patrick at Huddersfield and would have been delighted if we'd signed him, but he's been anonymous since joining Wigan. About time he put a performance in really.

He has been very poor with the ball and not much better in defence.
A major disappointment for us this season.
If possible I would send him to Workington for a few weeks and insist he puts in at least 60 minutes a game. His fitness levels look practically non existent

Fwiw I agree on Clubb, he wasn't amazing/sensational/awesome, he was solid but really hurt the Saints players in defence. His line speed is impressive for a big fella.

Our best players were Farrell and Sarg while Manfredi was strong (exception of messing up a couple of times in defence allowing overlaps). J.Tomkins getting the MoM was a shocker, he was the 3rd best back-rower on our team.

With Travis Burns in the side they'd have walked it. The fact that their forwards gave them no platform to play rugby means nothing, Burnsey is a miracle worker. We might as well right our season off, yesterday meant nothing.

Yes we weren't great, yes Saints had injuries and bad ones to important players but to say we are awful and we will be easy beats when you have a full side is ridiculous. We'll both get players back and we'll both improve. I think when both sides are at full strength Saints will be slight favourites but it'll be close and one heck of a battle.

It was great to see both sides go full tilt yesterday. There's been a good number of years recently were one side or the other has dominated but it looks close at the moment and the guts, determination, passion and effort of both sides was fantastic.

Agreed. I used to rate him alongside the likes of Taylor and Hill as an excellent young British prop and he was a player I always thought Wigan should be in for. He always used to perform well against us. Then he seemed to have a couple of seasons where he was shuffled about between the front row and the back row and he's compeltely gone backwards. I never thought I'd feel like we got the raw end of any deal that took Jack Hughes the other way, but it's feeling like that at the minute!

Clubb must make so few carries due to the game plan he's working to.
Equally he must make that many tackles for a prop also due to the game plan.
Instructions must be for other to do the carries and for Clubby to make the big tackles on the opposition's big forwards which he does aplenty. Most of his tackles are on the opposition's biggest players which is bound to take its toll in term of fatigue.
When he goes into a tackle at full pace the contact must be massive as he is quite quick for a prop and absolutely solid.
I was rather underwhelmed when we signed him, how wrong can you be?
