| You no what can you remember Charnley going on loan to Hull KR well if you did watch that game Josh Charnley was Centre to Senior and knock him on is so get your facts right instead of ripping into the lad. Then the second half senior swapped sides ...........

Interestingly all your posts are regarding Charnley so I would guess you're a friend/partner/relative, yes?
If you're going to get upset about a little criticism, and it is only a little, then I'd suggest you don't read a public forum. I think you're being a little over sensitive.

| I've got a really good feeling about Leeds on Friday. I can see us being focused, as close to full strength as we've been all season and dangerous as we've got a point to prove.
I'd love to see us put all our 'stars' back in the side and line up like
Sam
Charnley/Goulding
Carmont
Joel
Amos
Finch
Deacon
Coley
Tommy
Prescott
Hoffman
Hansen
Lockers
Lima
Mossop
Faz
Tommy
Quite harsh on Marsh and Tuson but they will be back sooner rather than later. I’ve dropped Goulding as although I think he’s done ok we need to see Roberts get a settled run of games to finally decide if he can get some sort of form back. If he can’t for me he’s gone but he needs a decent run and not on the Wing one week, dropped the next, FB the week after and then on the bench again.

| I'd like to see us shake the side up a little this week in a few areas but we must pick a halfback pairing and role with it. That is an area we need to find consistancy in and give a pairing a chance to settle.
I'd go-
Tomkins
Goulding
Charnley
Carmont
Roberts
Finch
Leuluai
Lima(a much improved effort against Wire)
McIlorum
Coley
Tomkins(we need his dangerous wide running)
Hoffman
O'Loughlin
subs
Prescott
Mossop
Hansen
Farrell

| I think the big one is trying to get Amos resembling the kind of player he was last season. He’s a strike player and a match winner on the wing and the only way he’s going to get back to anything looking like his best is via regular games in one position.
For me Leeds is the perfect place to start of this.

| I'd go with:
1. Sam
2. Goulding
3. Charnley
4. Carmont
5. Roberts
6. Finch
7. Tommy
8. Coley
9. Micky
10. Prescott
11. Hansen
12. Hoffman
13. Lockers
14. Lima
15. Joel
16. Mossop
17. Deacon (if fit)
I'm sure Charnley played at centre while at Hull KR and was ripping it up if memory serves so I'd like to see him given a go there. I wouldn't want to leave him exposed on the wing again and I think he offers more going forward than Marsh.

I like your 2nd team apart from i'd have Joel at centre. He’d be up against a physical centre in Senior and I think he’d do well also. Plus it would also let us get Faz back into the side.

| i can't understand that now amos is fit we have a player who can potentially dazzle at FB but we continue to use sam at FB. i'm quite happy with sams' attack and go forward plays from FB but he is a 6 at the end of the day and just not big enough for a FB IMO. with richards in the team sam wouldn't even be considered to play FB so why play him there with a fit roberts? the only thing roberts needs is game time and confidence, he doesn't need matches to get fit, so bang him where we can utilise the available players better by putting same back in the halves. and sod the hudds game as roberts didn't put a foot wrong and made no more mistakes or "errors" as everyone is adament he made than any other FB would. remember we only conceded one try that game against a VERY GOOD hudds team in good form.
thats what i think anyway

| Yeah I just saw that myself about Charnley. Came straight here to post but you beat me too it lol. Seems a tad strange though considering his pregression up to last Friday. Don't think it's a wise move to drop him after one bad game. Won't do the lad's confidence any good. Guess that means it's gonna be Roberts and Goulding on the wings then anyway

Marsh did nothing wrong against Wire. He was defensively sound against their best centre. Something only a few weeks ago we couldn't have dreamed of.
So whilst I don't agree with the dropping off Charnley. Josh did drop some high balls and make a couple of mistakes. Marsh in comparison was as solid as rock and had the better performance of the two on the night.

| But Marsh offers nothing going forward, Charnley as shown he can pull off big plays to win a match. So what he dropped a couple, its up to the rest of the team to offer protection in those situations.

Agreed. On the last performance, Marsh deserves to play.
And our right centre will most likely be up against Keith Senior this week, so he'll need to have another good game.

| Marsh has offered pretty much nothing in attack so far but his defence has improved massively since he first came into the team. With Charnley he's done fine defensively but has been caught out with some kicks, which might suggest he could be OK in the centres where he excelled for Hull KR. He does seem to offer more in attack than Marsh does. I do wonder why Marsh hasn't been tried on the wing because he definitely has the pace for it, and doesn't have to worry about passing the ball as much (which he doesn't seem too concerned with at centre really). Against Hull he took a brilliant catch from a cross field kick under pressure, he seemed completely confident dealing with it so I don't see what's stopping him from getting a game on the wing and Charnley being tested at centre.

| Still think Marsh is a winger and Charnley is a centre but quite obviously Maguire doesn't and as much as I don't understand it thats his call.
I'd have it down as one of the very very few he's got wrong up until now.

Same here! From what i've seen so far Marsh can catch a high ball and has lots of speed, which basically is all we need from a young winger at this stage. Bringing Charnley in at centre would take him away from alot of the bombs he is recieving, and just look at the way he has set the Hoff up twice this year so far, great centre play IMO, they would both be brilliant if they swapped positions.

I agree. The way he let him run 30 yards in the first half whilst jogging at the side of him having a chat was tremendous defence. Luckily the pass to the then unmarked winger (Goulding was forced to come in and do his job) was shocking.

He really can't throw the ball, watch him if he's at dummy half.

| Is it true that Goulding played at centre originally before moving to the wing? I personally believe he would, with the current state of our backline, be better playing at centre. Don't want to be too critical of Marsh, but he doesn't seem to offer much in attack, albeit his defence is strong. Goulding is equally strong, if not more so in defence and therefore think he would be surprisingly effective against the likes of Senior. Roberts would be able to line up outside him ensuring we have pace and a last tackle kick option on both the left and right. I doubt Madge would actually do this, but I just don't really have much faith in a Marsh/Goulding partnership. (Cue motm performance from Marsh setting up 5 tries for Goulding.)
