Why did he get picked then?
Is Madge now picking players for the fun of it?

I honestly have no idea why Madge picked him.
I am sure that had Charnley not been on loan he would have played on the back of good performances. Pryce played because they did not want to have to recall Charnley.

This is what annoys me to be honest, I'm not having a go at Pryce but Ainscough should have kept his spot, he would have had a much better chance of doing well with Carmont as his centre than he did with Bailey there. He got thrown in at the deep end then sent packing.

How many more young players do you want to get a chance? Tons of youngsters are getting chances as well they should, Pryce is a fringe player and also has every right to get a chance. I'm not bothered about how enthusiastic he LOOKS! He took his chance well, and in his first full 80 mins of first team since Catalan's away (off the top of my head) he made one mistake.
Get off his back, give him a chance.

He picked him because he deserved it simple as.
Thats how Madge has picked his teams so far and thats the way he called this one imo.
All that matters is that Pryce was given a chance today and he's played well enough to keep his place next week.
I still want to know what he did wrong today btw?

| If Ainscough had played the way Pryce did today, made the yards in the drives, scored the good try, put up such a good defensive display people on here would be creaming themselves.
Pathetic.

Give over yourself, he took the ball as many times as the opportunity presented itself with both ours and Hudd's pattern of play. He made knock on, big fecking deal - he also did a one handed pickup of a ball bouncing in goal and started running it out, and he palmed the ball away when hudds were making a break down his side late 2nd half and had a 4 on 2 overlap that looked a cast iron try scoring opportunity.

I'm not, anyone who watches the reserves knows that Charnley has been better than Pryce.
Pryce didn't even look for the ball today.
I have given him a chance. His has been poor this season, even at a lower level.

| Personally I think Pryce did a solid job. We looked far more solid defensively with him on the field and Hudds never had a sniff of scoring on his wing which will do me. This year with our team scoring far more tries I'm more bothered about solid defence than 17 tries in 12 games like Ainscough got last year. He struggled last week against Quins in my view so I think Maguire got it right.

Bloody hell mate, he 'didn't look for the ball'??? Is that seriously what you're gonna give him grief for? He played on the 'wing' in his first SL game for ages and stuck to the position he'd been told to play in. We hardly took the ball left all game, on one of the few times we did, Karl was in position and scored (not in the middle 'looking for the ball')

| Well of the two first team debutantes in todays match one stood out head and shoulders above the other for effort, work rate and presence on the field, and the other did OK and scored a try.
OK isn't good enough for Wigan, if you disagree, take the matter up with Shaun Wane.

We never went wide hardly ever today, just kept banging up the middle, but when we did both sides either scored or went close to scoring. Like I just wrote Pryce offers more physical presence than Charnley and thats important for me in that type of game. I'd give Charnley a run out next week over Pryce if was down to me but not today.

We took the ball right far far more and Hudds took it left far far more, Marsh was caught out for Gilmour's try, went for glory when he should have passed (and didn't even come close to making it), and fluffed a pass to Goulding that was a likely further try.
I actually think Marsh had a decent debut and did some good things, equally I think Karl had a decent game overall to (given the amount of play that side)

Go figure.
