Don't understand this squad at all.

Either it's an elite squad for the elite England players, in which case Hock, Pryce, Gleeson, Sinfield etc. should be in (and Briscoe, Atkins etc. shouldn't).

Or it's an elite squad for inform and up and coming players, in which case Fa'asavalu, Westwood, Morley etc. shouldn't be in it (and again, the likes of Hock should).

Elite is not what I would call the squad selected.

Its stupid!! I could have understood the top 25 players.........or the top 25 YOUNG players with a view to running the 'elite' squad to the future...but this.....as you a hotch potch of class youngsters and established quality players as you rightly said....plus 2 random no marks.....who i can only thing are in as 'a favourate' and a 'token' respectively. Makes no sense.

I mean if myler is in surely Tompkins should be? Whats the point in having mozza in who is on his way out of selection and surely in either his last or penultimate season? One thing thats good tho is at least smith has realised pryce for what he is...a one trick pony who super league makes look good and is nowere near international standard!! Other than that there are no positives in that squad for me....it is just silly and senseless.

For the experience. They are the future.

Given the fact that this squad is about giving players extra coaching and access to the "best facilities", i am shocked that Ainscough and Hock have not been included, both could do with the extra caoching and an extra input from external coaches in my opinion. Players like Westwood workhorses essentially are never going to change or improve significantly or be able to change style, so why put them in this environment?

I know players will be added because in that 17 is a wingman with a broken leg/ankle.
Trouble is the man who'll do the adding.
Tony Smith isn't good enough.
We go down under again in 2010 and the coach who will be in charge then should be in charge now and re-forming our International Squad, both for the French game and the Four Nations at the end of the year.
Tony Smith should be the history man but isn't due to the RFL messing up once again.

you dont know that!! if he's good enough he's good enough!! when he's not then move him on!! we dont have enough depth in the front row at international level and we have even less real experience!! look a petro and steve price!! war horses that do the job no questions asked and are both way older than moz. moz does the job he's asked as good as anyone.

england's props imo should be peacock, ranga, sam burgess and moz.

i agree with you totally on the other 2 jokers. mary gets owned in his own comp let alone against the aussie and kiwi's!! westwood is no way better than others who were left out.

Morley has changed his game totally from what it used to be and because of that just isn't as entertaining to watch anymore.

He used to play in shorter bursts and hammer people in the tackle by flying out of the line whereas now he's changed his game to be more of a 60-70 minute prop that gets through the basic tackles and makes good yards through plenty of carries.

He's still a very good prop but i prefared the old Moz. I think his new style is similar to Graham and Peacock but he's not as good as those 2 and i even see somebody like Andy Lynch getting upto his level and pushing him for his place.

Bring back the old Moz........the maniac!
