Gelling in the pack? As much as I would love to see that from a wire fans point of view, I highly doubt it. Wigan coped when Hock was banned and they'll do the same if he is sold.

| Hetherington is not progressive.
Those I mentioned have spent hours of hard work and £ms of money into new stadiums and facilities to increase their revenue. Leeds ground is a dump. Three sides have had PP for demolition for years but are still standing. The Leeds club has more income revenue sources than any other RL and by some distance. For turnover no one can come near to Leeds.
Leeds with their revenue should be in a new or re-built stadium with modern facilities and with the added crowds a modern stadium brings should be averaging over 20k a match, yet are not.
So Wigan, Saints and Warrington have won nowt!
Lets just remind ourselves who Wire beat in the C Cup final in 2010 and 2012. At the same time perhaps mention that Wigan beat the same outfit in 2011.
Wigan, Wire and Saints have spent millions and won nowt? They have spent millions and are in new stadiums and trophies in the cabinet.
Leeds and Hetherington won't be boasting that double for some years yet!

Gelling played most of his rugby in the pack as a backrow forward hence he struggled with the finer points of positional play in defence. He does however have one of the best meters/carry ratio in the team from last year and also has the size that we are going to lose.
I anticipate Gelling will have a strong year in 2013 now he has settled and if used in his natural position (centre/backrow). A few if the 20's coaches I know from other clubs also started to rave about him once he got a run in his natural position at the back end of last year.

So those revenue streams just happend by accident? The shiney new stand and plans for a ne south stand had nothing to do with Hetherington? The establishment of one the games top junior and scholarship programmes was just lucky? The Leeds club has gone from almost going bust to its most successful period in its history during his tenure and managing to stay within the cap (unlike some). No matter what you think of Hetherington he clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to running an RL club more than the majority of people involved in RL, including most of the other SL chairmen.

Nice selective quotation. So over the last 10 seasons the 4 teams you propose as progressive have not won half of what Leeds have combined? Selective & bitter.

If that happened then i think a bit of confidence would be instilled again, Those two would really give us something extra and the front line would be really bolstered and look (on paper) tonnes better.

The southstand has not happened yet, but have not been shelved forever, I seem to remember GH saying somewhere that it has been put on hold during these difficult economic times, for me that seems a sensible way of carrying out business and not getting into a hole.
Personally I am quite glad Leeds don't have a new ground. I like the older grounds rather than these new stadium.

| Still talking on the Parra board last night about Willie Tonga to Leeds to make room at Parra for both Folou and Hock. Wigan should be talking about Tonga in P/X for Hock or no deal.

The BBC translation:
Given some of the ridiculous things you say about Hetherington (I hope you don't waste my licence fee by spouting them on air), I can only assume he has wronged you in the past and you can't let it go. Maybe he stole your wife from you?

That is STILL (honest!!!) happening and the continuous lack of cover over the Kirkstall Rd End. Hetherington and Caddick must be sitting on a goldmine!
I dare say that Headingley will soon be overtaken by Craven Park and Belle Vue and their renovations/updates in terms of quality.
They're paying for entertainment on the field and hoping that the speccys continue to overlook the failing of the board to sort the ground out. In a way they are quite lucky, if Leeds hadn't won anything over the last few years there would be plenty of grumbles in the South Stand over why the new one hasn't been built.

Aye, one of the BIG costs that teams who own their own stadiums are saddled with.
That's about four years rent for Wigan.

| Prime of his career, money, fame, adoration... Can you blame him really? I'll admit, when I first heard this I reacted the same way many have "after the way the club stood by him, blah, blah, blah". However thinking about it now, in the same position, hell yeah I'd go! I say good luck to Hock. Let's all wave goodbye, say "good luck lad" and seeing as the age of retirement of a RL forward is getting later all the time, hope he comes home in a few years time. Imagine a Hock with NRL training and experience finishing his career at Wigan? Let's face it, Hock strikes me as the type who wouldn't even enjoy leaving Wigan for a holiday he's that bread into the place! He'll get home sick, come back as a 32 year old and give us possibly 3 devastating years before he calls it a day!
