| Quote ="Last Son of Wigan"I've noticed we as a club don't like to spell young players, they only seem to get a chance if a first teamer is injured.
For example, we have Deacon, a great player who's at the back end of his career, with this we have Mellor, a young up and coming talent in the same position as Deacon.
Wouldn't it be worthwhile to rest Deacon more and give Mellor first team experience at the same time? Then we'd maybe get more out of Deacon as he isn't run into the ground and Mellor would pick up more experience. With this the cross over from Finch/Deacon to Finch/Mellor would be smoother in the loong run.
Same applies to Coley/Crosby.'"
Not sure we've been playing well enough to warrant that though tbh

Agreed, if Deacon is fit then I think he should play, I don't think we can afford to rest him the way he is playing.

He's doing well at Widnes now but I'd like to see Mellor step up to SL level on loan before the end of the season, much like Charnley did at Hull KR last year and Mossop at Hudds the year before. It would do him the world of good'"
But Dorn is the fullback, did you mean Randall as he is 7 now?

Not convinced he has any firm offers from Australia there. A couple of interested clubs, but no offers. That will decide whether he stays in Super League or not. If he gets a firm offer from the NRL he's gone and if not then there's an offer from Wire that I think he will accept. Unless of course someone can offer him a higher wage in Super League i.e Wigan.
It's a long shot him ending up here.

I really don't think this interview adds any level of clarity to Kings movements. I can't imagine, if he will/does sign for us, that there will be any sort of announcement till the end of the season. I can't see Wire fans treating King with more appreciation if they know he's leaving them for Wigan.
Factoring all this in, I think if he is to play for us, we'll only know after Wire's final game.

| Ray Cashmere is to leave Salford. He's been superb this season and I'd have had him in my Exiles squad.

| In the King interview he says he's in talks with Wire over a new deal.
He wasn't in talks a month or so ago therefore it appears the club have changed or are changing their mind over King.
Is this perhaps why Ratchford was quoted as saying he may stay with Salford? That Wire are now going cold on him!
There may be a bit to run yet on this King/Ratchford business and no doubt our management will be keeping their options open with regards to these two.

| Anyone else heard a suggestion of Ricky Stuart for the coaching job?
Can't see past Wane myself but it's a whisper I've been told today...

| I wont be happy with Ricky Stuart.
What is wrong with Shaun Wane he is Wigan through and through?
The only way I would be happy is if Shaun said he isnt ready for the step up yet.

| I hope we don't get Stuart.
His time at the Roosters ended in tears and coming to Wigan could finish with him and the club in the same state.
Wane has to be given the job.
Deacs and Scully as his assts.

| I would be made up with Stuart, Wane is a massive risk yes he has earned it but personally I would like the tried and tested. I think he is a superb coach.
I will not moan when Wane is confirmed though as he needs a chance to shine and I really hope he does.
