I'll still answer the question all the same if you don't mind.
No one involved i.e. Kearney and his agent has said they were offered the job - I'm sure you'll be able to show me where they do.'"
I am sure you can show me where they or any body else deny he was offered it?
Quote So basically what you are saying is he could only say he was not interested in the job if he was actually offered the job itself rather than being sounded out about it?
You really need to go back and have a look at what I've written throughout before digging again.'"
I am not sure you have written anything with respect to any evidence to back up your position he was not actually offered the job. You seem to base your argument on arguing the opposite view is wrong as opposed to pointiung to some evidence yours is right. It is just your opinion that your position is the correct one whereas I can point to this:
"World Cup-winning Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney
has turned down a potentially lucrative deal to take over the reins at English Super League powerhouse Wigan."
[iSo he turned down what exactly? You can't turn down an expression of interest can you![/i
The New Zealand Rugby League, anxious to avoid a repeat of the messy Brian McClennan affair of two years ago when the then Kiwis coach quit to join Leeds, welcomed the news last night.
"It's great news and it's also not really a surprise either given the way Stephen has conducted himself as the Kiwi coach so far," said NZRL spokesman Peter Cordtz."
[iSo what was a not really suprise then? He obvioiusly means it wasn't really a surprise he turned an offer down [/i
"It's also consistent with what he has said to us about the Kiwi coaching role."
But the NZRL's elation could be short-lived with Kearney likely to be linked to the Roosters, if their coach, Brad Fittler, is forced to resign after Australian league's latest alcohol-fuelled controversy (see page 102).
Wigan's strong interest in Kearney underlines how difficult it is becoming for the NZRL to prevent English clubs wresting away its head coach.
The cherry-and-whites were lining Kearney up to replace current coach Brian Noble from the 2010 season.
[iHow does Wigan "lining Kearney up to replace current coach Brian Noble" equate to merely sounding him out?[/i
Kearney, also an assistant coach with the Melbourne Storm NRL club, went so far as to tell NZRL officials about the "expression of interest".
But yesterday his agent, Chris Orr, revealed the Kiwis coach had decided not to enter into contract negotiations with Wigan for fear it would cost him his role with the New Zealand national side.
[iThat is Wigan wanted to enter into negotiations about the job and he didn't[/i
"Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan came out to Australia and he was obviously looking at a few different candidates and one of them was Stephen," Orr said.
"We had a discussion but nothing further than that, really, because Stephen decided that due to his commitments as New Zealand coach and the success he's had with the team, the time wasn't right to leave that job.
"He basically thinks he's started something pretty special with the current group of Kiwis and he'd like to see that through to the finish. He's very happy with things as they are at the moment with the Kiwis.
"We didn't get to the negotiation process because Stephen went through his pros and cons and decided the time wasn't right.
[iright to leave and take up a new post, obvioisly[/i
"I know Stephen was absolutely honoured that he was even considered by Wigan as a candidate."
[iIt's blindingly obvious from the above Wigan offered him the job abd he decided against it.[/i
