Forget fans at other clubs. Wire fans embarrassed themselves and their club last night with their 'chants' during the announcement.

What's really making me smile is this -

Wigan banked the £700,000 transfer fee they got from the NZ Warriors. If they then paid Sam's wages from the remaining £500,000 that means NZ Warriors are technically paying Sam to play for Wigan! That's the cherry on top imo.

Even better if the marquee rule comes in as it won't even count on the cap. It's a world class player for nothing.

And to put that in to context it isn't a league were the leading try scorer finishes with 30+ either like it is here.

He scored the same amount of try's as Greg Inglis and one more then the likes of Billy Slater and Dylan Walker. The top try scorer finished with 21.

In terms of try assists he was again one in front of Slater and only a couple at the back of Australian half back Cherry-Evans and that's playing from fullback.

In short all these numpties are correct- He stank!

Personally from a Leeds fan it can only be a good thing getting ST back in super league. Would I want him at my team the answer is no we have a perfectly good player in his position and other areas that need attention. (Also ST is a Wigan player through and through couldn't see him at another club. He is a World class player and it will be good to see him playing more often again

Ironically I'll see less of him now. Every NRL game being on Premier Sports meant I watched virtually all of his Auckland games.

subscribe to "Wigan TV" next season and you can watch Sam in every game you don't see in person....lol....

At least the Warriors are a bit more fun to watch than many of the NRL sides. They've certainly looked like they've missed Sam the last couple of weeks.

Not a Wigan fan so see this from a neutral point but anyone with half an inclin about rugby league who watches NRL can see how much the warriors are missing him and need him in their side

I say the opposite, the warriors struggle without him, has a very good strike rate too.

He's been far from flawless, but few positions are under the microscope as much as full-back. And certainly the Warriors are missing him, badly. Especially as Shaun Johnson seems rather off his game (and Townsend isn't up to much anyway).

As noted before, Sam's record in tries scored and assists bears comparison with anyone in the NRL.
