I actually do feel that the comparison would have been better if you had said Cas. It would have even been better to compare our reaction to ourselves in 1990.

Sheffield as a club, and as a fanbase was a whole different scenario to us, and that is why I found the comparison strange, and assumed it was a pi$$-take.

Sheffield had very little history, had had very little success in the past, had a very small fanbase, and actually nobody gave them a chance of doing anything in the final.

Nobody had ever expected much from the Eagles. Wire have under-performed for a number of years, however have a decent sized fanbase, have a long history, had some success in the past (nowhere near enough for my liking!) and the future looks much more rosy than that of the Eagles 10 years ago.

Almost everything is in place at Warrington, all apart from any on-field success. That wasn;t the case at Sheffield last time. The hope was that the Wembley trip would give their overall club a boost, however the off-field stuff at Wire isn;t the issue.

But Warrington have won more than 30 cups and been to more than 50 finals........now how does that compare to sheffield.

But wiganers are not allowed to talk about post 96 remember ?

BK - I sympathise. You and I and others have attempted to have a rational debate with people on the salary cap, but sensible pro-cap people seem to be extremely thin on the ground as far as this board is concerned. Instead we get nonsensical, bile filled anti-Wigan rants.

Even worse than this though has been a real trend recently on fairly uncontentious subjects of fans of other clubs simply posting nonsense in a deliberate attempt to derail threads or cause irritation - a very recent example being the imbecilic posts on the "Man of Steel" thread. Nothing in that thread deserved idiotic comments.

I know these boards are meant to be for all RL fans but things do appear to be getting a bit out of hand recently on this board, particularly with the moronic posts clogging up threads. I'm not sure what the answer is but from some of the posts on this thread it clearly is a factor in dissuading some people from using this site more often, which is a real shame.

There is quite a simple reason why your board get's over ran with trolls and people having a pop, it's due to many of your fans starting threads berating other teams or hijacking threads on other boards by posting constant rubbish and going on about history so it's only natural for it too happen back on here. Take the Myler 300k thread as an example, people's biased views are clouding what's actually in front of them, you'd be very excited at the prsopect of him playing in the famour cherry and whitebut because he's going somewhere else he's no good?

Maybe having people from other boards is a good thing as it can often give a different perspective on a debate. Particularly before and after a match when you have played a a particular team.

Of course their are trolls and the mods deal with them .

However, i belief that your issue goes somewhat deeper and more reflects your state of mind and attitude. It is quite clear from your post on the VT that your demoralisation about Wigan and RL in general, inability to accept the SC, franchising etc and the fact that you are going to be supporting RU in 10 years ( your words not mine) is the real caus eof your disillusionment.

BK, it seems that the SC is rather like a death in the family, you need to "accept" it or you will continue to suffer from psychological trauma. Apparently.

If I were to engage in some amatueur psychology I'd say that you Durham Giant were the one "in denial" if you are unable to accept that there are some very serious problems with the structure and management of RL in this country.



But this is a bit of a sideshow, albeit an amusing one. The issue is not with BK but with moronic visitors to this board.

No one is saying that fans of other clubs should not post on this board, but BK is right to highlight a growing trend of fans of other clubs posting nonsense on this board.
