I agree. It would be nice to add a top class centre to the side next year. But by the sounds of it there just isn't anyone half decent or affordable available.

Signed a big deal for the Gold Coast Titans, Joel is never a centre the loss of Gleeson has been felt with a much less potent attack on the right side.

IL stated at fans forum that Joel will be a world clas centre with an off season training how to run the correct lines..........i doubt he'l buy a centre after saying that.........and its not like we're short of back rowers.

Joel has looked very promising as a centre and his build and pace are exactly the mould we need to be developing our centres in, especially to compete internationally. He's very raw at the minute granted but give him more game time and a full off-season and I think he'll be a Wigan and England centre for years to come. Stick with Joel and Carmont for next year then I would look at Joe Arundel from Cas as George's replacement for 2013.

We pulled Carmont out of the hat in 2008. Maybe we will sign a pearl, doesn't have to be a big name to be quality.

Our current team with a world-class centre and Joel replacing Hoffman along with a world-class hooker with Leuluai replacing Deacon looks very strong.

Or keep Leuluai at hooker and sign a half back?

I just think a specialist hooker would have more of an impact on the team. We have Finch who will to all the organising and kicking. Give Tommy a free role with his running game and we will get the best out of him, look what he did to saints in the GF. He would be out Chase/Marshall type player.

Mentioned him a few times in the past, he would be frightening over here and a realistic target.

Sadly unlikely to get a visa due to an assault charge in the past.

I really rate him (and as usual, there'll be plenty of people along shortly to say he's crap cos he's never played for Aus). He's big, quick and would go well over here.

The assault charge was dropped, nothing in it.

He's very much an 'under the radar' kind of signing due to the number of quality centres over there.

As I said I was hoping we would be in for him but thought it was a no go due to the assault situation. It would be a huge signing. Would score a boat load in SL he is not the most skillfully but he would make clean breaks for fun.

How is his defence? Is he out OOC?

Gasnier, the one who plays week in week out, not the one who played in SoO 3. Capable of a couple of seasons in Super League. He would need a challenge, not money to stop him retiring. Nobody else in NRL would be young enough or willing to pass on NRL wages to come on over.
