Totally agree that Phelps and Sam had very good games for us.

Not sure if Lee Mossop would have made all the difference but I think we would have had better shape with him.

It would also help if Feka could turn quicker than the QE2.

Briers attacking kicking game was superb, his defense was pretty poor as usual and he didn't actually do that much. As soon as Wigan cam on the comeback he was nowhere like in the first 20 mins as well.

Phelps has been going great guns for some time now... shame certain individuals can't match his agression and commitment.

He's brilliant Phelps, he also makes good yards on kick returns and often beats the first defender.

Are you having a laugh? Just because he is young you can criticise him you know. He was awful and on at least 2 occasions he passed to no one which caused Wigan to lose the ball. He also made many poor decisions and missed tackles. Also the least said about his petulant behaviour the better. He has done well for you this season but he was not good today and still has an awful lot still to learn.

Dont think he had his best game today.... but lets not go there!! last thing we want is a witch hunt on a player who has been the young player of the year by a country mile up to now....

Though to be fair if he'd been foreign, he'd probably be copping for it regardless.

Thought Phelps played really well today.

Thought Flannigan made an impact

Whilst I have been a consistent Noble doubter this season and have regularly knocked the Lockers knockers I have to admit that I've been proved totally wrong about Phelps.

At the start of this season I thought he was a very limited player who didn't have what it took to play for Wigan.

The guy's attitude is superb. He has shown what can be done with hard work and application. He has improved massively. He still isn't a world beater (though I wouldn't swap him for any FB currently playing in GB - since Radders retired the standard of FBs in SL has been very poor, with a decent and hard working clubman (Wellens) winning awards simply by being competent mainly because the other FBs in SL were shockingly bad.)

In the CC era Phelps is exactly the kind of player we need. He gives 100% and seems totally dedicated to improving himself as a player; that kind of pride, that kind of winning attitude is what has been sorely missing at this club in recent years.

Well done Cameron Phelps. I am delighted to have been proved so very wrong.

Easily. He's in a rich vein of form.

Phelps is a quality player and I'm glad he's signed new terms.

I can't say I was thrilled when we resigned Phelps, but he's come on leaps and bounds recently. Much improved and rarely makes a mistake. By some distance he was our best player today, followed by S Tomkins and Coley. The only three who can really hold their heads up high; worked hard the entire time they were on.

I wonder if radders has somethingto do with phelps improvement at full back

I was under the impression he's receiving some coaching form Rads. I would certainly say elements of his play are Rads like.

I totally agree.. he was completely running the game in the 1st half..

Phelpsy the stand out Wigan player without doubt!! A pleasure to watch

He's found his position but to me can look shaky at times. I'm expecting a coach to really test him with the high ball before the end of the season.

But he has come on a bomb (oo er) and if carries on learning from Rads should be top draw next year.

Certainly a huge upgrade on Mathers, who even today showed he couldn't catch a cold without falling on his .

Agreed - better team won and the best three players on the pitch were Monaghan, Briers and King in that order.
