Maybe the skulls is why people are saying it's creating an intimidating image? They are quite an intimidating symbol, as you say with pirates etc. Why are they needed?

I should add, I think everything else is great! I love the flags and banners, the proper drummer is really good, and most of the new chants are good too. The atmospheres home and away have really improved. I even find it amusing when I spot a Brigantes sticker in an unexpected place, i just don't understand the skulls thing.

I joke about the pirate ship but symbols like that if intended or not have a certain stigma attached to them i dont see how they relate at all to Wigan Rugby League. Player flags are awesome and hold meaning to fans skull IMO is what put a lot of people off

The skulls symbolise support beyond the grave, undying love for the club (hence the Cherry and White bar scarf). They aren't intended as an intimidating symbol, we took onboard the critisicism of the image and made it more "Wigan-esque" with the addition of the flat cap and pipe, a little tongue in cheek representation of our Northern roots, the text "Northern And Proud" speaks for itself! A skull itself isn't necessarily related to Wigan, but neither is the image of a Warrior

As for the Skull and Crossbones, it's simply an iconic and popular image that has been adapted with the lions face to make it relevant to our logo, it's bold and stands out.

), but (and perhaps I'm being a bit paranoid) if & when some daft scrote & his buddies decide to go on a wrecking spree, fingers will point square at the south stand.

I think the imagery as it is could attract "the wrong sort" if you're not careful.

Also, the skull & crossbones was used by some of the French far right parties in the nazi era - hope you're not thinking of taking it to Montpellier.
