Which is why he should never have been appointed in the first place. Just for the sake of appointing a neutral ref does not mean you should appoint one who loses count of the tackles!

If he had of stamped on the offsides early the game would of flowed beteer he made a rod for his own back by not blowing for pens in the first few mins

how he was awarded that game il never knowi know he was "neutral" but his standard is very poor.

luckily the reason wigan lost was poor defensive choices and nothing the ref did

Look a basic fundimential skill is the accurately call the tackle count he couldt even do that on one set he called 4 then after wigan played the call changed it to five

Thought Alibert was reasonable, he certainly reffed the game better than Silverwood last year.
He made mistakes each way. Noted that he warned Andy Coley 3 times to speed up getting off the tackle, should really have pinged him. Also gave you 2 dubious penalties when they were 6 yds from your line, even mentioned by Phil Clarke. SGI got away with stuff aswell.
Speed and intensity was by far and away higher than anything else witnessed this year. Both teams played some fantastic rugby league and as a neutral it was a great game to watch.

He is a shocking ref, but it didn't affect the result luckily, still a great occasion. The worst decision for mine was when 2 SGI players were tackling one of the Wigan players, they took him to the floor and as he got up he shouted "Play on" before changing his mind, and awarding a Wigan penalty after the SGI players completed the tackle that they were apparently supposed to do...

He was poor for both teams and it didnt affect the result. The worse thing I thought he did was there was several times when the St George players werent getting back in line with him so he was actually stepping forward so that he was in line with where the players were standing. Think the occasion got to him a bit imo, he was getting a bit flustered and people have already mentioned the losing track of the tackle count etc. The best team won however and I am just proud of Wigan for giving it such a good go against some of the best players in the world. Would love to get a crack at them next year with Richards, Finch, Lima and Fielden all fit/available.

Got waht he deserved the booing when he got his medal, rubbish for both sides really

he is appalling, he was embarressingly bad last week for us V KR.

i said this at teh start of last year as well, he's so bad its almost comedic, and that was with us winning matches as well.

good effort from your lot last nite,we had that ref last week and he is poor to say the least,ok for the first 10 mins then forgets the rules and blunders his way along for the next 70,why the rfl think this bloke is decent is beyond me!

He's worth the entrance fee alone with his bumbling and downright amateurish mistakes.....



A particular favourite from last night, was him blowing for a 20 metre re-start, whilst the ball was 50 foot up in the air and the St George player was preparing to attempt to de-fuse a bomb!!....Even funnier, was when the St George player messed up the said bomb, and Alibert had to embarrassingly point to a drop out under the sticks, even though he had helped probably helped to put off the Aussie fella's attempt to catch the ball!!.....

He may be inept, but you can't hate him really....I think it's just his mannersisms and his loveable face. (He also nearly went ar$e over tit in the second half).

Alibert was his normal self, bad for both teams and not biased either way. SGI played to the rules he allowed on the night and Wigan didn't.

What I didn't like was the players in or around the ruck constantly slowing play down, off the tackle but clearly in a position to slow down the ball distribution. This is getting into SL, I seem to remember watching Leeds doing this.

I remain convinced he's actually called Terry Albert and is from Castleford, but retains the name and Mr Crabtree style French accent so he can stay employed

If you don't like this you had better stop watching Wigan mate. they are the masters of it, no other team comes close to their expertise in this area of cheating

It's not cheating though is it, it's annoying and frustrating and it pee's off a lot of fans and coaches but 'legally' Wigan are doing nothing wrong. Do i wish the messing about at the ruck was changed and penalised,yes i do but you can't blame Wigan for exploiting this, it's the RFL that need to sort it out. This sounds daft because it annoys me too but i hope Wigan carry on using the tactic, any team that plays within the rules is entitled to do what they need to, to win. No rules broken so carry on as you were.

They are not experts in cheating just experts at playing to the far edges of the rules.
