Peet referred to Field's injury when he rested him a couple of weeks ago saying he's had a tight hamstring and that was the reason he's been rested for a couple of games, but should be coming through it now.

I think that was evident in last week's 2nd half display.

He deffo also had a different issue
Like I say it wasn't a massive problem but for 3 or 4 weeks (and he was rested for 1 of the games) it was niggling him and affecting training

As for him not playing until fully fit as another poster suggested, then I guess if wvery player didn't play when they had niggles then we would struggle get a team out as they're all carrying something or other at most times

Talking of niggles/rests and Liam Byrne, I saw mention somewhere from Peet where he said the rest has done him good. He wasn't fully fit after the WCC and missed a couple of games and it's been a stop start time so far for him but I'm hoping we see the benefits of that rest tonight and in the next few weeks. He's pretty important to the side IMO and offers us something different to the other props via his aggressive defence and line speed. I talked last week about which props are nailed on in a top 17 and I'd have Thompson and Havard as that, with Dupree and Byrne just off being totally nailed on but both could make themselves un-droppable in these next few weeks, with the big games we have coming up (in truth I think Byrne is likely to be nailed on in Peets 17 anyway).

Tbh after the decision with Havard (and in the past with other players) I don't have full confidence that we know when to bring players back, and when not to. Will just see how it goes.

Too many errors from us but I enjoyed that half. Good intense game of RL.

Better towards the end of the half but shocking early doors again.

Total lack of cohesion between the spine of Smith, French and Field.

Nsemba is a big target in defence.

Most frustrating however is every time we got a bit of momentum or position we did something very poor to surrender it with ease.

We did enough at the back end of that half to suggest we can win this one but we do need to cut out the stupid errors.

Now Wigan are playing much better, and getting what they deserve. Do you feel better now CW? I will always call it how it is.

Mago, Havard and Leeming in particular huge impact to turn the game.

Defence much better and started to click in attack when we got into good shape.

Been critical of Keighran but thought it was his best performance in a Wigan shirt tonight still think couple of times he could have looked for his winger but defensively good and showed a bit more with his carry.

The spine not quite clicking yet but it shows signs it will.

Second week in a row Ellis not hit the levels I’d exit t from him and with Hill, Eseh, Cooper and Walters in contention next week he may be lucky to be in the 17 next week.
