Possibly but the point stands doesn’t it? There are people bemoaning the lack of fans turning up on game day yet last night, we had 900 more on the official attendance than the team at the top of the league, on a Friday when their game wasn’t televised. I’m merely trying to bring some context to this discussion is all.

Not if theirs turned up and ours didn't. They could read the crowd out as 10,000 but if only 7,500 bother to turn up then it's a bit of a false flag.

Wigan average around 10,000 home fans on a Friday which is always lower on a Thursday if not in the school holidays. London bring no away fans. Not hard to work out really.
Of course if we were winning matches like you guys then we might bring in some glory hunters (although surely none of them still reside in Warrington) with a light show or the chance to meet a bloke in a costume but instead we're just stuck with the regular 8,000-9,000 we get every week win or lose.

| Next time i don't attend a home game I think I'll keep that information to myself!
Anway, for my sins, I did attend the London game. I don't think I can recall watching a worse game at the DW. Appalling.

Did you not go to the Huddersfield game? There wasn't a great deal between either game to be fair....except the result!

| If 2-3000 fans who have S/T or tickets aren’t actually showing up, the club need to be asking them why. This whole “it’s the number of tickets sold” smokescreen won’t wash.
What’ll happen next season when those people don’t bother to buy a ticket in the first place and crowds drop thousands more. The club should be extremely concerned by this trend. Others will be watching thinking - crowd looks awful, don’t fancy that again. Just like when crowds are rising it encourages floating fans to jump on the bandwagon to be involved. It’s happening in reverse.
It’s been mentioned on other threads but the marketing of individual games is beyond pitiful. You get a quickly knocked up poster that is shared on the club’s social media channels and that’s it. They don’t even make sense, Burgess doing a hush gesture for a game against London, WTF! It’s like they don’t want big crowds.
What happened to The Big One? Family promotions? Heinz cheap tickets? Heritage day, etc.
FFS on Thursday they GAVE AWAY 100 tickets because it was Gildart’s 100th game the week before If that’s the best they can come up with they need to GTFO of our club.

no doubt th next step will be a cheesy advert about how tough and fast rugby league is on Rock FM.
When you think about it, how much is it for 2 adults and 2 kids to go to the pictures?
How much to go to the rugby? Plus paying for parking on the same car park.
What they need to do is instead of having crap posters, just do what Latics do and have a big sign saying when their next home game is and who against.
Maybe even advertise - ‘Family Ticket (4 people, max 2 adults, can be 1 adult and 3 kids) inc a programme, 4 pies/chips and 4 bottles of pop/water/hot drink for £50 and free parking.
Against London and Catalans these are games where we can fill the North stand with freebies, Groupon tickets, giveaways, school trips, family tickets etc. But they’ve saved a wage in doubling up the marketing managers job with another one, penny wise pound foolish.

| If your crowds continue in the downward spiral do you think you may consider a ground share at the Leigh Sports Village? The DW Stadium is far too big.

Someone gets it....
This is exactly what I was fishing for and seems nobody else could be bothered....
Well perhaps that is a reflection of how Wigan is now being run...
The Big One...that was in my mind when I fished for a response.
OK you had 3 x TBO and the first 2 vs Wire and Leeds(I think) backfired as a result but crammed the fans in...I often wondered after the first 2 flops Wigan decided to make the 3rd Huddersfield, because it was never measure up to the first 2...yes I know Huddersfield was League Leaders.
Anyway back on topic...Wigan promotion is weaker than the missus makes my coffee. It's not sneaky dig...it's a disappointed rival.
Our game next week should be massive on BBC...Wire have rolled out the Star Wars promotion...what have Wigan done?

| So you say. Where are they on the Rhino website, sky sports, local news outlets, sporting life, BBC sport etc etc? In fact, I couldn't even find the attendance for Leeds V Broncos on the Bronco's site either - surely they'd let the opposition know and give them the choice whether to publish it, but it looks like Leeds is the North Korea of SL, where factual information doesn't come out very easily.
There's a big difference between some geezer saying a figure once, and then publishing it in writing where it will be recorded forever. We may have low crowds at the moment, but at least we are man enough to publish the figure.
