the league leaders shield means a lot to ME , ive been there through the drubbings at knowsley hole , then leeds the week after , 150 points + in 2 games , the laughing stock of the league , close to relegation , 4 drives and a kick , having nightmares about the next game but feeling the need to go , walking to the home games with a feeling of dread etc etc

I get what you're saying and as someone who doesn't agree with the playoffs I kind of agree. The rules are though that the CHAMPIONS are crowned at Old Trafford. Therefore, anything less means we've won nothing.

I think the playoffs should be a seperate competition to give those other teams something to aim for like the league cup in football. Its important but not to the same degree as the rest. That way top of the league could be champions and then be in the best position in this secondary cup. I think the sport needs the playoffs for the money but the meaning from them is too high the champions should be the top of the league like us this year and saints all those times.

I am going to have a few beers on Friday to celebrate and thank the players for some of the best rugby I've seen in a long long time at Wigan + the LLS, Assuming my Wife has had our second baby, otherwise its either the maternity ward or a "dry" night at the DW on Friday for me...

Yes it was very emotional at Hull KR after the game, lets hope we win the GF, but what ever happens the phoenix is rising and we've had some great away trips this season

I'll certainly be celebrating. Coming top after a long season is a fine achievement and it's a real turnaround for our club. It's important to take the positives out of life. Yes, if we don't go on to win the GF it'll be a downer but that doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy ourselves on Friday nor that we've "won nothing" when patently we have won something. Jeez, there's some real misery-guts around!

Let's have a big group hug, sink a few bevvies and head into the play-offs on a positive note.

Seconded, finishing top IS an acheivement in a tough and very competitive competition as SL is today, the team and backroom staff have worked hard in maintaining a high standard of performance week in, week out and should be applauded and recognised by us all, believe me, no one thinks that this is anything but the beginning of the battle to win the prize we ALL want, not only reaching the GF, but winning it, is the target, and everyone at the club is aiming at it !!!.

I'll be going on Friday to celebrate winning the league, if we win anything else this season great but as far as I am concerned we are the League Champions. If we do win the Grand Final all it is to me is an extra trophy, I don't think we have anything else to prove.
