https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-pr ... Buomf3qC3o
So what exactly are they angry about? I don't understand their point.
Is it that a player has picked up an injury? It happens in a contact sport like ours just a bit of bad luck like every team gets.
Is it the fact KPP played on with the injury? Are they angry with KPP or Wigan for it?Have Newcastle not had players doing similar before? I would say it is pretty commonplace in our sport, players take pain killing injections all the time to play matches with injuries and deal with them in the off seasons. Nothing unusual about this at all and KPP will have been on board with it and wanted it.
If it is the fact they are just learning of this now, what would they have done if they had this information when it happened /while the SL season was still ongoing? He was still a Wigan player, not Newcastle, so what happened during that time is completely between Wigan and KPP and they would have no effect on the outcome. Could they have cancelled his contract on these grounds? Would they? I very much doubt it so the outcome would be the same regardless.
Besides they must have had some knowledge of him carrying an injury as everybody else knew, as the article states it is the reason he wasn't playing for England. Sounds like Newcastle moaning for the sake of moaning for me.

Wouldn’t take notice. I highly doubt anyone at the club has said it it will be the journalist anti English crap. Even if Newcastle are unhappy with Wigan, they still loose out in the end as we’ll keep the next player they were planning on buying
Edit: to add its not like Newcastle are going to challenge next year and with no relegation in the NRL who’s

| If it makes them think twice about pinching the UK's promising youngsters, good.
I also hope they give his agent hell, because they're the rats at the root of all this.

| Aside from Newcastle moaning though, it's surely not good to be keeping injured players on the field with the help of a stream of injections? That can't be doing the player good in the long run.

A lot will depend on the situation I guess and also the players thoughts. I’d imagine early in to the season they wouldn’t have looked to just get him through games but coming towards the back end, when we were short on numbers and he had the chance to go out a Grand Final winner, I’d imagine both parties would’ve been in full agreement. The Aussies might see this as a pub league but a chance to win a Grand Final in front of 60,000 people doesn’t come around every day. I doubt he’ll be winning anything else in his time Down Under, so I can understand why he didn’t want to miss the opportunity.

No disrespect to either of them, but I'd have Sutton over both Mago & Cooper (because of his injuries). Probably would be better value on the cap too.

There's the legendary and comical incident regarding Andy Gregory who allegedly burst into Maurice Lyndsey's office, demanding that if Ellery Hanley was getting a cortisone injection that he wanted one too. Poor Andy thought it was a new sports car ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

Remember Ellery warming up at Wembley in front of the opposition fans (was it against Saints)?

No thanks, he couldn't wait to leave when he signed with Canberra, once you leave there should be no way back No matter who you are.

| Makes no difference to us due to the timing of it - we already have more than enough front rowers signed up. But Sutton seems to have fallen off a cliff in the NRL - he was playing very well for Canberra but fell out of favour and he clearly didn't impress the coaches at Canterbury.

| Sutton isn’t fit to lace Walmsley’s boots let alone play for Saints.
Allegedly they’ve got 2 or 3 young world beaters coming through so no need to sign a Wigan cast off.

| Sutton really seemed to get his act together in his early days at Canberra. The question is will he just fall back into his old bad habits when he returns to the UK?

That's just my opinion all players that have come back as done nothing for Wigan Rugby most of them are burnt out, plus that's a easy option for them if they don't make it over there.
You tell me why should they come back.

If we feel they will strengthen the squad then we should welcome them back. Going to the other side of the world to test yourself in a much better competition is no reason to cast them all aside.
Each case should be decided on their merits when they decide to come home.
